98.5 to KA Maharaj, gets the edge! Shami gets a wicket in his best over of the match. Plugs away in the corridor, climbing in the corridor. Straigthens marginally and kisses the outside edge. Maharaj failed to get behind the line. Nicely done from the bowler. 282/7
2244632.091066000
62.4 to AB de Villiers, chops it on! Short and wide outside off, slashes with a a horizontal bat. Reaching out too much and the ball sits in the pitch just enough to induce the inside edge. India finally see one edge hit the stumps. There have been a few today. 199/3
110.3 to K Rabada, Pandya takes a sharp one at deep square after running in. He is furious too as he chucks the ball away. Bouncer on middle stump, Rabada takes it on with a hook. It dips on the fielder but he is so well balanced as he runs in, loose as he leaps forward and lands on his elbows. 324/8
112.4 to F du Plessis, clean bowled. Inswinger speared in on middle stump. He wants to whip this wide of mid-on with power, but there's a big gap between bat and pad. Misses by a long way in the end. 333/9
1645003.12676000
38.51011342.9017818000
29.3 to D Elgar, and he hangs on to a deflection off his stomach! A bizzare shot, but it was coming from Elgar. Ashwin was making him dance, really. He steps out, premeditatedly. It's back of a length from Ashwin so he's never going to reach the pitch of it. Forced to drive on the up. Hits it aerially into a jumping Vijay's mid-riff. It gets jammed there fractionally, between body and right elbow. He reacts quickly to juggle and hold on. That might have even carried to short extra if silly point wasn't there. 85/1
47.3 to AK Markram, gets him straight away! Has he? Markram reviews. It's a late cut, that looks very much like an edge. Everyone behind the bat is excited, as is Ashwin. Oh he's reviewed because he's connected with the back pad as he plays the shot. But he has connected with the ball at the same time. This will remain out. His affair with the 90s must be a painful one. Top class innings ends tamely. It was a back of a length ball in the corridor and he was looking to play the late cut. 148/2
81.1 to Q de Kock, gets him first ball! India are back in this! Length ball, dipping outside off. QDK wafts at it with no feet, following the ball only with his hands. It's lazy. And quite unlike Kohli at slip, who reacts quickly to grab to his left. That flew quickly to him. 250/5
113.5 to M Morkel, thick outside edge as Morne looks to drill this full ball over cover. Vijay gets under it at sweeper cover and takes it. Ashwin tossed this up wide outside off and drew him in. 335/10

36.5 to M Vijay, gone! This was coming - he's been trying to cut him repeatedly for the last three-four overs, even when the ball wasn't short enough. Tries it again - this one's got some width on it but it isn't a short ball - and it hurries through and gets a top edge through to de Kock. 107/3
22.156042.701069011
9.3 to KL Rahul, takes it in his follow through! KL Rahul rooted in the crease. Poor shot. No feet as this length ball comes in, drives with hard hands as it rises. Chips it back to Morkel's left and he hangs on despite losing his balance and grabbing at it. 28/1
82.6 to Mohammed Shami, taken at first slip. Regulation Morkel wicket. Short one in the corridor, hangs his bat up to try and defend. It's a bit too quick for him. Amla with the reverse cup at throat height. 281/8
90.4 to I Sharma, bunts it to short leg. Morkel came progressively closer to Ishant in this over. This one is at his chest, at an off stump line. Can't get outside the line like the last ball, can't get on top of it either. Gets under it and gives an easy one to short leg. 306/9
92.1 to V Kohli, chips to long-on. Full ball on middle stump, steps out and wants to chip it straight. But he cramps himself and it comes off the inside half of the bat. Long-on gets a simple one to his right. 307/10
1634612.87704000
81.3 to R Ashwin, good catch Faf! Ashwin edges straight away against the new ball. Length ball, swinging away outside off. Wafts away from the body, thick edge flying at Faf's face at second slip. He grabs it and then tries to balance as he's falling backwards. Falls over anyway. 280/7
2017413.708410000
45.5 to RG Sharma, struck on the back leg right in front of off stump. This nipped back in and beat the inside edge. They've reviewed after the umpire gives this...it's hit him on the back thigh. Feet are quite deep in the crease. There's no bat on it...tracker shows it's umpire's call as it clips the top of middle. He's gone. Slanted in at a length by Rabada, Rohit looking to drive on the up and is caught playing the wrong line. 7th lbw dismissal in his 42 Test innings, to go with nine times being bowled. 132/4
1425113.64595010
53.4 to PA Patel, his maiden wicket is a beauty! Angles in to off stump, nips away off the surface and draws the edge as Parthiv looks to defend his stumps. Offered the full face and that's about all he could have done. Big outside edge and Ngidi is overjoyed. 164/5

91.3 to L Ngidi, gets great connection on the slog but he's found long-on. Tossed up at middle stump, he ends the solid batsman charade and swings with his front foot out of the way. Long-on was a few yards in and had to leap to take this with a reverse cup. Well connected, but flat enough to keep that fielder in the game. 258/10
2037033.50849010
1.2 to AK Markram, plumb! Markram is leaping up at this short of a length ball to try and defend, but like he's done all Test long, Bumrah gets this one to skid on at knee height. He's trapped on the back leg and there's little doubt in that. 1/1
5.3 to HM Amla, gone! Another one keeps low! Oh no one's going on the back foot from now on. Bumrah has destroyed that tenet of Test batting for now. Back of a length ball coming in at middle stump. He's looking to flick on the up, but the bat is about 3 inches above the ball, which has hit him on the knee roll. 3/2
88.4 to F du Plessis, sticks out the right hand takes this in his follow through! Deceives him with the slower ball. An offcutter. Full and in at off stump. Faf shapes to drive inside out through extra cover. It pings off the inside half and hangs up for Bumrah who is fully in control this time.. 245/9
1734022.35805000
73.4 to VD Philander, pulls to square leg. The perils of being a bowling allrounder in a blockathon. You will lose your concentration at some point. Short ball in the corridor. Sits in the surface and he's early on the pull. Standing on one leg and losing balance as he looks to pull. It's a feeble chip to the fielder. 209/6
75.6 to KA Maharaj, lifts up in the corridor and takes the outside edge. Back of a length and climbing steeply at Maharaj who can't get on top of the bounce as he looks to defend. Edge off the high part of the bat. 215/7
1634943.06738000
41.1 to AB de Villiers, got him! Shami gets it to climb up at AB and induces a stab. It's a length ball shooting up at AB who is looking to chop another one square. Gets it off the glove and it's a simple take. That swung in through the air and climbed off the pitch. 144/3
45.5 to D Elgar, he's hit a long hop straight to deep square. A short ball, down leg side and he nails this pull shot. For connection, anyway. He's placed it straight to KL Rahul there, who misses it on the first attempt and fishes with hards hands to try and grab this as close to his body as possible. Ends up jamming it into his ribs and holds on to his right. 151/4
47.4 to Q de Kock, won't survive this time. Another aimless waft. Length ball climbing up in the corridor. No attempt to move the feet, no attempt to cover the line. Edge carries to Parthiv's left and he takes an easy one. 163/5
87.2 to K Rabada, edged to second slip and it's an easy take. Length ball coming in at off stump, drives on the up with no feet and ends up playing inside the line. Ball dips on Kohli but it's at a comfortable catching height. 245/8

7.5 to M Vijay, chops it on! It's that low bounce again. So similar to what Bumrah did. It's sufficiently short of a length for a batsman not to be forward, but it doesn't take off at all. Vijay looks to punch from the crease, gets it off the inside edge of the toe and the ball tonks leg stump. 11/1
29.5 to PA Patel, oh Morne you beauty! He has pulled off a screamer at fine leg! Wow. Sprints to his right, lunges out with his big levers and manages to keep his elbow from slamming into the ground. That's all about balance from Morne - holds his hands up in the air as he slides on his hips. Short ball outside off, Parthiv gets behind the line and launches the hook shot. No chance of keeping that down because he's not on top of it, so he looks to go big. He hasn't connected well enough. Morkel's team mates are static when it's in the air...they're olympic sprinters when he's held on. 65/5
47.2 to RG Sharma, looks like AB has taken it! Yes, it's clean! Superb. Loses control of a hook - it's a difficult pitch to get that shot right every time. Backing into the off side, manages to get under it and there's no room. Top edge hangs some 20 yards in front of AB at fine leg. He sprints quickly, goes low with a slide to pouch this and then gets up gracefully to toss the ball up and volley it in celebration. 141/8
12.233963.16575000
11.1 to KL Rahul, oh dear that is a terrible shot. Short of a length outside off. Half punch, half cut. A nothing jab in the end - ends up like a slice. It's a hard one to describe. The only thing that's clear is that he was very, very nervous playing that shot. Backward point didn't have to move. 16/2
15.6 to V Kohli, gone, lbw, that was unplayable. Went wide of the crease, hit that Bumrah spot, got that Bumrah angle into the stumps, and that Bumrah low bounce too. Was jumping across, playing for the bounce all the muscle memory built up over all these years must have made him expect, and the ball hits him low, just around the knee-roll. The umpire's finger goes up immediately, and he reviews - hoping against hope. It's crashing into middle stump, however, and Kohli must walk back. South Africa have the big wicket, and 287 is a long, long way away. 26/3
35.3 to HH Pandya, QDK leaps to his right and takes it one-handed. Ngidi wins the Pandya battle. They'd taken fly slip out. He bowled it short and very wide. Pandya has to reach out a long way to try and get it over the cordon with a ramp. Can't manage it. It's a thick outside edge. 83/6
37.1 to R Ashwin, outside edge through to the keeper. Well, that's how you get Ashwin most times. Length ball, slight shape away outside off. He looks to drive through the line on the up, hardly a front foot stride in. It's elementary. Ngidi sprints away in delight, he's one away from a five-for on debut. 87/7
48.2 to Mohammed Shami, five wickets for Ngidi. What a show on debut fo this guy. He's hit India hard. Back of a length ball fired in at a middle stump line. Shami backing away again to try and make room for a slog. Ends up slicing it straight to Morkel who takes it with a reverse cup at mid-on. Standing ovation from the dressing room for Ngidi. 145/9
50.2 to JJ Bumrah, Philander lunges forward and gets his hands under it at mid-off. South Africa have won the series. Full on off stump, Bumrah's weight going backwards as he pokes with hard hands. It's a feeble chip, dying on Philander. He takes it. Six for Ngidi. 151/10
