26.3 to MM Ali, and Moeen out on the bouncer again. This is a good bowling change, a good plan, and good field placement. Bouncer, head high, Moeen goes for the hook, gets a top edge fine, and Vijay has been placed fine at fine leg as opposed to the squarer long leg that we are used to seeing nowadays. 87/4
91.1 to AU Rashid, beauty first up. Perfect ball. Shami has his second. Seam movement here. Shami bowls short of a length, seam upright, Rashid has to play the angle, the ball hits the seam and moves away. Rashid is squared up, and edges it through. Lovely bowling. All bowlers bar Ashwin now have two wickets each. Ashwin has one. 268/9
93.5 to GJ Batty, Batty has reviewed an lbw decision, but this is just because they have a review. Short of a length, angling in, and Batty plays across its line. A sort of half-pull, the kind Root played yesterday. He is hit in front of middle, and with the bounce not extraordinary on this pitch, Batty is out plumb. The review confirms that. 283/10
1645823.627411000
9.6 to H Hameed, U Yadav finally gets the reward for a testing spell, and they are all looking at the pitch. There have been balls bouncing in front of the keeper from a similar length, which is just short of a good length. Hameed pushes forward ti this, and it kicks off from nowhere to hit him on the higher glove. Lobs up to Rahane at gully. Even the Indians looking at the pitch here. Poor Hameed. After a shooter in his last innings, he gets one that bounces from a length, like on a trampoline. 32/1
88.6 to CR Woakes, and U Yadav has his man after so much hard work. This is excellent bowling. He has been going wide on the crease, making them play the angle, but the ball has been holdings its line. Two balls ago was wide. The last one was closer to off and beat the outside edge. This is on off and pegs back the pole after beating the outside edge. This is a big wicket just before stumps. Will lift India up for tomorrow. 266/8
1554923.26654100
14.1 to JE Root, and J Yadav strikes first ball after drinks. Slightly short of a length, Root pulls across it but the ball stays low a touch. Having said that, this shot is never on. Caught plumb. What makes this shot poor is that this is the first ball of spin he has faced on a pitch expected to be up and down. 51/2
83.4 to JM Bairstow, J Yadav has got his man immediately after that drop. This offbreak turns. From just outside off, and finally one turns past Bairstow's bat. Hits him low in front of middle and leg after turning in from outside off. The projection shows it is hitting leg. So Patel will be relieved. J Yadav says it's okay if you guys won't catch, I will take the lbw myself. Bairstow reviews, but it is a desperate attempt as he has not hit the ball. 258/7
1814312.38794000
15.1 to AN Cook, who writes their scripts? India have turned it around. And Ashwin it is. He dropped a sitter 10 minutes ago. And this is not a wicket-taking ball either. This is short and wide. The cut is on. Just that Cook doesn't play it well. Gets a thin edge into Patel's gloves. England have let India back into the game. And now India feel it. 51/3
2345922.561043001
43.6 to BA Stokes, a terrible way for Stokes to go! Credit to the bowler for beating him all ends up, but Stokes simply walked straight past an ambitious drive, and Parthiv has all the time in the world to whip off the bails. Deceived by the pace and skid of Jadeja's tight line. But there was no need to do that, England were accumulating very calmly after lunch. 144/5
68.1 to JC Buttler, tossed up, drilled in the air, and Kohli is on hand at mid-off to gobble a simple catch! Buttler becomes the latest England batsman to give it away after a comfortable start. And kudos to Kohli, he actually anticipated the shot and was running round from cover, Billy's Boots style, as the shot was played. 213/6

25.6 to PA Patel, ambitious appeal as Parthiv advances and is struck on the kneeroll. But England have reviewed. There's no bat involved, but he was a long way down the pitch. Wow, HawkEye gives it the three-red treatment! It turned after pitching, but not enough to miss leg stump. Can't blame Marais Erasmus for turning that down in the first instance, but England have their breakthrough!. 73/2
51.2 to CA Pujara, good grief, has Pujara holed out to cow corner? A dirty long-hop, and his eyes light up. But Woakes is one of three men on the leg side, and he scampers in to scoop a thrilling low chance, inches from the turf! The umpires are taking a second look, but the soft signal was out, and sure enough, there's no quibbling from the third umpire!. 148/3
53.2 to AM Rahane, pinned on the pad by the googly and up goes the finger! Didn't pick this at all, thumps the front pad and it looks like a bit of a futile review. Sure enough, it was umpire's call on impact and smashing the stumps!. 152/4
123.1 to RA Jadeja, spanged up in the air, this one spirals down to long-on, off the toe of the bat, and Jadeja has holed out for 90! What a pity, that aggressive intent proves his downfall in the end, but it was a mighty and matchturning innings all the same. England, finally, have some respite. 381/8
26.257352.7712110030
14.4 to M Vijay, Vijay is walking. Once again a drop has not hurt the fielding side. Stokes strikes in the first over, but Vijay has played a poor shot here. Stokes digs this in short and wide outside off. No need to play at it unless you are going to go hard at it. Vijay just pokes at it. Gets the edge that the umpire Gaffaney doesn't spot, but Vijay saves them the trouble of the review to walk off. There are only a few left but there are walkers in this world. Moeen is another. 39/1
64.3 to V Kohli, Kohli's gone! This is a massive moment in the game. Outside off, maybe nibbles away a touch, Kohli was sizing up another glide to third man but instead he merely feathered an edge to the keeper!. 204/6
94.5 to R Ashwin, and Stokes strikes. England delayed his introduction too much. Unlike Woakes he is not bowling this dead straight. Wide length ball, Ashwin finally plays a drive like he did against Woakes, and the ball holds its line to take the thick outside edge lands with point. Ashwin walks back frustrated but he has played a crucial innings for India. Raises his bat to the 10 spectators in the stands. 301/7
136.6 to J Yadav, Stokes finally gets a much-deserved wicket. Bairstow gets away with his drop. Stokes bowls a slower offcutter looking to keep Jayant on strike. Jayant has an almighty swing at it, fails to keep it down, and Moeen takes a sharp catch diving to his left at short straight midwicket. 414/9
138.2 to UT Yadav, Stokes has five. The outside edge finally pouched. On a length, just outside off, he has to play the angle, and the ball moves away to take the outside edge. Regulation chance for Bairstow but nowadays there is no guarantee regulation catches are taken. 417/10

83.2 to CR Woakes, and Shami doesn't relent. Bowls another bouncer and takes India one strike closer to the win. This is just really really good fast bowling. Follows the bouncer with another sharp bouncer, into his armpit, giving him no chance to get away from it. It lobs off the handle of the bat for easy catch for the wicketkeeper. 195/8
83.4 to AU Rashid, fantastic clean-up job from Shami. Rashid is not going to get out of the line of the bouncer. This is at his head, and he just hooks. The top edge flies to fine leg. Shami, when he has the bit between his teeth, is a wonderful sight. 195/9
832603.25333000
26.248133.071169100
13.6 to AN Cook, through the gate and smashing the stumps! Simply played the wrong line as Cook played for turn but left a gaping hole between bat and pad. Probing line from Ashwin but the seed of doubt caused by a nibble of turn was enough to unsettle England's master player of spin. 27/1
19.5 to MM Ali, chipped in the air, such a nothing shot, and he is pouched with ease at mid-on! Came down the track, expecting the half-volley, but was bamboozled in flight, tried to check his stroke, and gave his innings away once again!. 39/2
37.1 to BA Stokes, big appeal first ball as he squares him up. And Kohli has reviewed this. Given not-out on the field. India have pulled one out of the hat. The review has worked, and the big wicket of Stokes is in the bag. This is pitched middle and off, Stokes is squared up by the turn, and is hit in front of off. The projection shows hitting the top of off. 78/4
30126222.061434100
39.2 to GJ Batty, and Jadeja has got through the nuisance of the nightwatchman in his first over of the morning. Batty pushes forward with bat and pad together. Jadeja pitches on a length, the ball straightens and also stays low, hitting the pad before it hits the bat. Looks like he is hit in front of off. Hitting middle and off. 78/5
66.3 to JE Root, what a lovely catch from Rahane. And that might be the Test. Root pushes at a length ball. Finally makes an error. Pushing in front of his body. Jadeja gets this to turn from around off, takes a thick edge, and Rahane sticks his left hand out at slip. The ball sticks. England 18 for 7 now. Rahane kisses the ball. 152/7
1222121.75550000
31.3 to JM Bairstow, what a catch. That is a stunner. Bairstow goes back and pays the price. This is a shooter that doesn't turn. The only way to deal with them is to meet them on the half-volley but Bairstow has been playing back especially after he fell lbw lunging forward in the first innings. Having said that this is a stunning catch from Patel. He stays low, and the ball is about a foot high when he collects it. Sensational way to come back from the two earlier blows. The best part of the catch is that hands go down as the ball stays low. Helps if you are not too tall. 70/3
46.4 to JC Buttler, Buttler has found the man at cow corner to perfection. This is not really smart batting. He dances out, looking to go over mid-on, but Jayant keeps it shorter than his reach and Buttler ends up dragging it wide. Easy catch for Jadeja at cow corner. Think Buttler advanced too early, giving Jayant the time to adjust his length. This is unlike Pujara who leaves his crease only after the ball leaves the bowler's hand, but once he leaves the crease he is really quick. 107/6
