39.5 to LD Chandimal, the dots balls have got to him. Tried to hit the leather off the previous ball to find a fielder, this time he tries the same outside off. But the ball was shorter than that, and it was an off cutter at 127kph that spat out sharply from a length and got a thick edge to gully at his attempted drive on the up. 92/3
116.2 to HMRKB Herath, good length outside off, another cutter, spits from a length and catches the shoulder of the bat and maybe a bit of thumb before floating straight to first slip. 457/7
2137713.669010022
82.5 to DAS Gunaratne, dragged it on. This one is back of a length and moving away from the off stump. He's gone for that down-from-gully pull shot with an angled bat again. The new ball has skidded on, not bounced too much and it's an inside edge - an ugly one, after all his work - and that's the end of a match-changing innings. 288/4
24410314.2910210212
5.4 to WU Tharanga, got him! Subashis doesn't seem to believe this, he's turning around jubilantly. Tharanga is surprised by the extra pace as this skids inside from an off stump line, beats his half-hearted defence and slams into the stumps. 15/1
22111345.13808300
22.3 to FDM Karunaratne, gone! Good length outside off, once more there's no turn and this slides to catch the under-edge as he tries to chop it past point. Only chops it onto the stumps. He was half-forward, half-back with that, and had no room to be attempting that shot. 60/2
103.3 to BKG Mendis, and there's the most encouraging sign of all! Tossed up at middle stump, Mendis wants to get the double with six. Steps out, not to the pitch, it's drifting away from him as he goes across the line and skews it out to long-on. Tamim runs backwards, keeps his cool, takes it and lobs it back into play as he crosses the boundary. Then recovers, no fuss, to take that easily. And third umpire confirms it's all clean.. 398/5
109.6 to N Dickwella, gone. Tossed up nice and wide, only 78kph, that. Pitches outside off, turns away, he's not to the pitch. He wants to pick that midwicket boundary again, but gets a top edge that goes straight to short third man. 432/6
128.5 to MDK Perera, this looks plumb in front, and it looks like he knows it too. Reluctanctly reviews. Good length at off and middle stump, goes for the sweep and misses it. It went straight on and hit him in front of off stump. No bat involved. Ball tracking shows this is hitting off stump. Out.. 494/9
32.1510013.101277100
129.1 to PADLR Sandakan, great catch! This is tossed up outside off, he steps out and makes too much room. Tries to go inside-out, gets it off the bottom of the bat and Mehedi keeps his eyes on the ball running backwards to his left from mid-off and dives to keep his balance after holding on to it. 494/10

BOWLINGOMRWECON0s4s6sWDNB

48.6 to Soumya Sarkar, oh that's casual from Sarkar. Loose shot for the set batsman. Short ball at leg stump, Sarkar is half trying to avoid this ball but changes his mind and plays a pull very late off his hips. The top edge flies straight to fine leg. 142/3
1617014.376710030
62.4 to Mahmudullah, got him! Slightly wide of the crease, angled in at off stump, his feet have been rooted all along and it's the same case again. He's inside the line as it pitches, has to go at it with his hands as it doesn't nip back in, beats the outside edge and knocks the top of off stump. 184/5
1945332.78865101
40.3 to Mominul Haque, that's plumb in front. The dream offspinner ball. Good length at middle stump, turns away towards off stump. His strategy of playing off the back foot has come undone. Misses this and he's right in front. 127/2
90.1 to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, that seems plumb and yes it's gone. Captain tells him he is gone and he has to walk back. So Bangladesh lose a wicket right after avoiding the follow-on. Perera comes from around the wicket and bowls this on a length. Mehedi hangs back and tries to defend but the ball is fired quicker and raps him on the pad. Seemed like a goner from the time he was struck. 298/7
90.2 to Taskin Ahmed, oh, gone. Or, no! Erasmus does not seem to be moved. They are contemplating reviewing it and they go for it. Was there bat involved? No inside edge there. It was pushed through on leg stump line and the left-hander comes forward and expects it to turn. Just that it does not and comes on with the arm and beats the inside edge to strike him on the pad. Question is if the angle would have taken it down leg. This might be umpire's call. The angle would have taken it just enough to hit leg stump on the full. Three reds and that ends up being a superb review. Perera on a hat-trick.. 298/8
26.247232.731186100
65.3 to Litton Das, wide of the crease, good length outside off, marginally straightens. He makes room and pokes at it, no feet, opens the face, outside edge to slip. Yet another loose shot for Bangladesh. He expected that to angle back in and catch the middle of the bat, but that was a nothing shot in any case, far away from his body. 192/6
95.4 to Mushfiqur Rahim, oh, bowled him. That's a pretty poor dismissal to end a fine innings. But he had to take the chance to try and farm the strike. Comes down the track and leaves a daylight between bat and pad. The ball slides in with the arm, goes between the gap and takes out his stumps. 308/9
97.2 to Mustafizur Rahman, and they go back as quickly as they came because there's a bizarre catch at short leg. It's a pitched up ball on leg and Mustafizur clips it away hard. Short leg is looking away but the ball just gets stuck to him. Not quite sure where that hit him, but it's a freakish catch for sure. Mendis the man. 312/10
2256913.13956001
55.2 to Shakib Al Hasan, another batsman falls to Dickwella down the leg side. This is similar to Tamim in some sense. Ball is sliding down the leg side, he wants to tickle it fine, gets bat on it, but the keeper has moved briskly and held onto another one down the leg side. That was a wrong'un that pitched at middle stump. 170/4

54.4 to WU Tharanga, gone. Another big attempt at a slog sweep and loses his stumps as he makes no contact. Loopy delivery, sliding in on off and does not turn away as much as he would have liked. Just coming on with the arm and takes out off-stump. 198/3
60.2 to N Dickwella, oh, great catch. Tries the reverse sweep again and the wicketkeeper sticks the left glove out. He was not trying to hit it too hard, just tries to guide it through the third man region. The ball sticks on and he is quick to bring his hands together to make sure he holds on to it as he tumbles over to his left. 222/5
942412.66444000
68.6 to MDK Perera, cutter, short and wide outside off, goes for the cut and there's a tiny outside edge says Liton, and the umpire has heard it as well. 274/6
25210424.16888200
41.4 to BKG Mendis, flighted and loopy, sliding in with the arm on middle and leg. Mendis tries to slog again but unlike the earlier shot, this time he does not have as much room. Lofts it well but only as far as the fielder guarding the square leg boundary as the ball goes straight down his throat. 134/2
55.2 to DAS Gunaratne, oh, gone. Nicely bowled. Gunaratne does not account for the turn. It's a length ball and he expects the ball to come on with the turn. Instead, it takes a little bit of turn and beats the outside edge of the bat to take out off stump. 199/4
803214.00314011
22.2 to FDM Karunaratne, back of a length at middle stump, he's had enough of hanging around. Tries to swat this over the square leg boundary, but it hurries on him marginally and can only get a short-arm jab at this. It flies flat to deep square leg's right, where Mahmudullah takes a couple of steps to his right and holds on to the catch at waist height before taking a tumble. 69/1

18.5 to Mominul Haque, struck in front. He's been pulled forward against his instinct, gets one on the back of a length now and doesn't go back positively enough. Pitches on middle stump and straightens, traps him on middle stump and it's been given out. He has had a long discussion with Tamim, who tells him not to review it. He reviews it but walks away towards the pavilion. Didn't look he was convinced himself, but since he has made the signal, the review stands. There is no bat, confirms third umpire. It's pitching in line, hitting in line and clipping the top of middle stump.. 80/2
20.5 to Tamim Iqbal, good ball. Drifted in at off stump at a good length, pitches and turns away sharply, along with bounce. Tamim has been coming across with the pad all along. Once more it shortens his reach. He's defending well in front of his body and it catches the shoulder of the bat and bobbles up easily for first slip. 83/3
20.255962.90946100
27.4 to Shakib Al Hasan, leg slip dives forward to dismiss Shakib. This is looped at off stump, draws him forward and he's not to the pitch. Fends at it off the front foot, but it turns, catches his glove and balloons in front of Karunaratne who lunges forward to take it. 104/4
27.6 to Mahmudullah, and another! Trapped in front by the arm ball. Goes slightly wide of the crease, pitches at middle stump, goes on with the angle. Mahmudullah has plonked his leg across, goes for the forward defence and bat hits his front foot as the ball sneaks by and hits him on the back leg in front of leg stump. 104/5
50.2 to Litton Das, and another soft dismissal. And there is the record. Rangana Herath has surpassed Daniel Vettori to become the most successful left-arm spinner in Test cricket. He is mobbed but his team-mates and what a moment for Sri Lanka cricket. Coming to the delivery, it was nicely flighted by Herath and Das looks to slog it big over the leg side. Gets a leading edge for his troubles - went too hard at it - and the ball is held by the cover fielder who runs back a couple of steps to complete a fairly straightforward catch. 166/7
54.5 to Taskin Ahmed, gone. Comes forward to defend, probably expecting the ball to come on with the arm. But it takes some turn and goes off the inside edge to the pad and lobs straight into the hands of Kusal Mendis at short leg. 180/8
56.4 to Mustafizur Rahman, five-wicket haul for Herath. For the 23rd time in Sri Lanka. Mustafizur expects this one to spin in a lot more and is playing for the turn. But the ball drifts in from outside off and goes on to beat the outside edge and uproot off-stump. 194/9
60.2 to Mehidy Hasan Miraz, chips it to mid-off and that's the end of it. Six for Herath and Sri Lanka take a 1-0 lead in the series. Flighted and drifting in from outside off. Given the drift, he cannot make good connection and he was also not to the pitch of the ball. Harmlessly sends it into the hands of mid-off and that will be it. 197/10
611612.66270001
15.2 to Soumya Sarkar, got him! Gunaratne's awkward spinners from around the wicket have caused problems every ball he has bowled. It's floated in towards middle and off stump, pitches, spins away and clips the top of off stump. A perfect offspinner's ball. Sarkar thinks he's been given caught behind and wants to review it, no joy. 67/1
902913.22361001
47.2 to Mushfiqur Rahim, oh, my goodness! What a way to get out. This one is pitched on leg stump and spins away further down leg. Mushfiqur is trying to tuck it into the leg side, fine, but gets an edge to the wicketkeeper. Nirshan Dickwella continues to effect dismissals down the leg side. That's bad, bad way to get out. Bangladesh in serious trouble now. 158/6
