41.3 to M Azharuddin, what a take from Rashid Latif! That's a huge and timely blow for Pakistan, and due reward for Waqar's magnificent persistence. Outside off, back of a length, tempting Azhar with an open-faced steer through third man, but Rashid spots the shot early, commits to a full-length fling, and snaffles the ball in one glove low to his right!. 200/4
49.3 to A Jadeja, clattered high and hard out to long-off The sound in the ground suggests he's nailed this one too, but not on this occasion! Jadeja gets underneath his stroke this time, sends a spiralling catch down to Aamer inside the rope, and there ends an utter gem of an innings. A sensational, innings-seizing onslaught!. 279/8
1006716.70319041
48.3 to A Kumble, hoisted high out to wide long-on! Javed Miandad has been pursued by the ball all day, will this land safe ... no, it will not! A confident take in the end, skirting round the perimeter of the rope, and India's late charge takes a untimely dent. 260/7

21.2 to SR Tendulkar, what a day for Ata-ur-Rehman. Young man, playing his match of the World Cup, told to do so 15 minutes before toss, is not well himself, bowls a marathon spell that stifles the batsmen, and he now has the big fish, Tendulkar, chopping on. This has been the feature of his bowling: no room. Tendulkar looks to run this down to third man but it is too close to him, and he edges it into the off bail. A rather subdued effort from Tendulkar. Pindrop silence at Chinnaswamy Stadium. 90/1
1005625.60284130
36.4 to NS Sidhu, flipped him! What a response from Mushy! Faster, flatter, gathering pace off the deck as Sidhu lined up the glory thwack over midwicket, but he fails to read it, and has his stumps rearranged to end a brilliant and, (dare one say it?), match-defining innings. 168/3
45.2 to VG Kambli, tossed up and back goes the off stump! That ringing in your ears is the sound of the Chinnaswamy falling completely silent. Kambli was galloping to the pitch, but failed to pick a masterfully disguised googly. If it hadn't rattled his timbers, he would have been stumped by half the pitch. 226/5

32.5 to SV Manjrekar, tries the slog sweep but gets not much wood on it. Ends up sending this to wide long-on with enough air time for Miandad to be able to run to his right and make this look like a simple catch. Sohail and Malik have done a fantastic job as the fifth bowler here, drying up the runs and drawing this desperate shot from Manjrekar. 138/2

10.1 to Saeed Anwar, four men in the circle on the leg side, no one back, and that draws a false shot from Anwar. India have prised out a wicket with funky field sets here. Anwar knows the angle is coming in so he just looks to chip one over the infield on the leg side, but the ball is a little too wide, which means Anwar ends up getting a leading edge towards long-on. Kumble back-pedals from mid-on to complete a comfortable catch. The stands find their voice again. India believe again. High fives all around. 84/1
1004534.50356020
14.6 to Aamer Sohail, oh blessed are the meek... Nothing meek about Prasad's celebration, though. He has come back in the best way possible. This time Sohail tries the old trick of shuffling across and then opening up the off side by clearing his front leg. Prasad bowls the old-fashioned top-of-off delivery, and Sohail plays all around it. The off stump goes for a walk, and Prasad shows him the way to the dressing room. High fives among the Indians, elation in the stands. 113/2
18.5 to Ijaz Ahmed, the pressure comes to bear again, and Ijaz has snapped! A wild swing through the line, nowhere near the pitch of the ball, and a steepling leading edge plops out to cover! Prasad is bowling a blinder of a spell, and suddenly Pakistan's serene start is ancient history!. 122/3
20.4 to Inzamam-ul-Haq, oh, that's a massive blow for Pakistan's hopes! Prasad with the legcutter once again! Supremely bowled, in the channel on off stump, nibbling off the pitch, luring the hard-handed jab and snicked to the keeper! Inzamam departs and now India are firmly in command. 132/4
1004834.80323200
35.4 to Saleem Malik, that looks quite plumb as Malik plays across the line and all over that straight ball. Many a batsman makes the mistake of playing Kumble for the break, and he gladly goes straight on. Oh that's taking the middle of middle. The man who was keeping the runs coming is gone. Handy effort but he has left, I daresay, Pakistan too much to do. 184/5
43.2 to Mushtaq Ahmed, Kumble is claiming it, and India are getting closer to a famous win. This is a lovely catch for a tall bowler, the height making them less athletic as fielders. Ahmed looks to work this full ball to leg, gets a leading edge and the ball loops to the left of Kumble, who is a little late to change cirection, but makes up for it with a full-length dive. This is a low catch so Ahmed is not keen to walk off straight away but Bucknor sends him off on his way. Replays show this has stuck in his left hand, and is a clean catch. This is his 100th ODI wicket. 232/7
45.2 to Ata-ur-Rehman, oh Kumble is in a hurry. Just the perfect ball for a tailender. A yorker on the toe. Ata-ur-Rehman, what a day. After having worked so hard he is part of a procession. India's winning procession. 239/9
1004614.60333110
42.5 to Rashid Latif, lovely bowling, and an equally brilliant stumping. Raju continues to deny them any room by following the batsman as he leaves the crease and makes room. This really full ball squeezes underneath Latif's bat, and Mongia is superb in the low collection and a lightning-quick stumping. Raju into his customary colourful celebration. he is quite a character. Is that the game then?. 231/6
