35.2 to AJ Redmond, soft dismissal and not Best's best delivery but it earns him a wicket, it was good length on middle and leg and Redmond looked to work to leg but got a thick leading edge which picked out the gully fielder with pinpoint accuracy. 117/2
97.4 to CJ Anderson, well taken by Ramdin and West Indies have a fifth! Fighting back this morning are the visitors as Best angled this well down leg, Anderson could only get a thin touch on it and Ramdin dived very well to his right to take it low one-handed as Anderson departs without scoring. 385/5
121.5 to BJ Watling, Best earns some reward for finding the right length on middle and off, Watling was stuck in the crease as he jabbed at the straightening delivery, bit of extra bounce sees it take the shoulder of the bat and goes low to the right of second slip who neatly collects the catch. 469/6

51.3 to PG Fulton, poor stroke sees Fulton depart, it was a good length outside off and he jabbed at it whilst on the move and it flew straight to second slip, another New Zealand batsman fails to kick on after getting a start. 185/3
94.1 to BB McCullum, Sammy earns the breakthrough! Full outside off and just shaped back through the gap between the defensive bat and pad and crashed into off stump halfway up, McCullum is on his way. 380/4
46713813.0020213300
24.6 to HD Rutherford, what a stunner! New Zealand lose their first wicket a few minutes before lunch, it was tossed up on off, Rutherford went for the loft that brought him a six last over, he hit it out of the middle but hoisted it high rather than far, Deonarine was stationed at a three-quarters long-on but was nevertheless forced into backpedalling and the ball appeared to be likely to fall behind him until he stuck his right hand out behind his shoulder and the ball stuck as Deonarine tumbled over in controlled fashion, if that doesn't inspire the visitors nothing will, outstanding fielding. 95/1
2207623.45773100
122.4 to TG Southee, Deonarine snags his first scalp as the ball straightens off a good length on off, thick edge rushes into the lap of first slip who did well to hold on. 472/7
140.3 to IS Sodhi, tame leading edge to a shortish ball on leg, through the attempted flick too early and it balloons up behind the bowler's end stumps where Deonarine races back to collect the catch. 548/8

2.1 to KA Edwards, New Zealand strike and the returning Edwards' comeback begins with a duck! Angled across and he prodded at the length ball on off, the edge carried comfortably into the cordon where Fulton took a simple catch. 4/1
53.5 to D Ramdin, after the trouble for Chanderpaul it's Ramdin who goes! Shortish ball on middle and off angling across and Ramdin tries to drop the hands and stay inside the line but the ball just clips the glove through to a gleeful Watling as West Indies slide further. 174/6
55.1 to S Chanderpaul, Reiffel raises the finger after a long thought process! It was around off and angling in, Chanderpaul shuffled and decided to offer no shot and was hit quite high above the kneeroll, he reviews straightaway, it was possibly going over the top but Hawk Eye shows the bails being clipped meaning that the decision stands and Chanderpaul's quick knock is ended as his side look very likely to follow-on now. 183/7
1615243.25675000
9.4 to KOA Powell, poor stroke from an opener, expect Powell to be excoriated by the West Indian fans for that stroke, it was full but decently wide of off and Powell just prodded indeterminately - neither a confident defence nor an attempted drive - and the thin nick is held by Watling, that should have been left alone or at least played with some firmness of intent. 24/2
27.1 to DM Bravo, full outside off and Bravo didn't really get the feet across as he played a rather half-hearted drive, it flew off the bottom of the bat to McCullum who safely held on in the gully, big loss early for the visitors. 70/3
29.4 to MN Samuels, another one departs! Samuels was looking distinctly uncomfortable and again is stuck in the crease to a full ball just outside off as he shuffles across before belatedly attempting to come forward, can only fence it at a comfortable height to first slip as the visitors slide further. 73/4
37.6 to N Deonarine, oh dear, flashes at a full ball way outside the off stump without moving the feet and ends up reaching for it and can only get a thick edge which flies straight to Taylor at first slip who lets it plop out before receiving a favourable second bobble to grab it cleanly on this occasion, that is another poor stroke from a West Indian top-order batsman and they need to curb such irresponsibility quickly if they want to save this Test. 106/5

15.126324.156810100
58.5 to S Shillingford, straight through the gate, another wrong 'un outside off which isn't picked and Shillingford is also back to a full ball, the push misses and the ball crashes into middle. 202/8
62.1 to ST Gabriel, Gabriel given lbw first ball! Sodhi pushed it through on the stumps, hit him on the full as he came forward to defend on the point of the front foot's middle toe, they decide to chance their last review since they have one in the bank but nothing can save Gabriel and the rather sorry West Indian first innings despite the interminable number of ordinary replays due to some issue with the DRS. 213/10

29.1410123.4613015000
52.4 to MN Samuels, soft dismissal, full on the stumps and Samuels is through a drive too early and pops it back to Southee at eminently catchable height and that is that. 178/3
162.1 to DJG Sammy, and the new ball works as Sammy has no choice but to go for quick runs, as Southee pitches a length ball, shaping away, with this one spooning over to Ish Sodhi at sweeper cover, who takes the catch. Ends a fine innings from the West Indian captain. 507/10
35118122.3117010010
5.4 to KOA Powell, Powell departs again edging a drive behind the wicket, he didn't move the feet across to that one and got a thick edge which flew to Southee at third slip. 18/1
141.4 to DM Bravo, Boult has followed that previous delivery with one of the most innocuous ones to get Bravo, who is on 218, as this slower offcutter from Boult stays a tad low as Bravo is in two minds while defending it. The New Zealanders are ecstatic as they know the significance of this wicket in terms of their plans of wrapping up the West Indies tail. 453/7
30311233.7312816002
57.2 to S Chanderpaul, oh Chanderpaul is given lbw! Full on off and it swings in late past the shuffle across on the crease, hit the pad on middle and leg at kneeroll height, he reviews straightaway, no inside edge or no ball, Hawk Eye shows the ball comprehensively hitting leg and that you have to say could be the end of West Indies' hopes of saving the game. 185/4
155.2 to S Shillingford, and Wagner gets his just rewards as Shane is enticed into edging another back of a length ball in the channel, which just holds its line, as Taylor dives low to his left at first slip to hold on to the chance. The umpires are having a look at it, in case the chance was grassed, but it looks all ok. Makes it eight down now. Shillingford did well in his vigil at the crease. Can Best and Gabriel follow suit?. 491/8
161.1 to TL Best, what a jaffa from Wagner as he gets this back of a length ball to rise up uncomfortably on Best, who is squared up, offering an edge to Ross Taylor at first slip, who gleefully accepts it with a low dive to his left. West Indies are nine down now, and New Zealand's openers will hope they get an early start on the chase. 507/9
1422912.07653000
101.5 to N Deonarine, breakthrough just before tea, outside off and he came forward to a full ball which nipped away and got a thick edge through to Watling off the shoulder of the blade as New Zealand earn some reward after long toil. 307/5
49715523.1621915400
37.4 to KA Edwards, the googly does the trick as it skids on straight from a good length, Edwards was stuck on the crease and then shuffled back to try and whip it to leg but he missed, simple lbw and he knows a review would be futile. 135/2
115.3 to D Ramdin, cleaned him out with the googly! It pitched just outside off and Ramdin left a gap between bat and pad in his defence and it snuck through the gate and knocked back off stump. 363/6

3.1 to PG Fulton, going down the leg side as the West Indians are adamant that Fulton has edged this behind to the keeper. Not surprisingly, the West Indians have gone for the review, with replays showing that the ball may have well hit the bat on the way to the keeper's gloves. Hot spot is showing a slight spot on the image. Faint, but it is there. The decision has been overruled, and Fulton has been given his marching orders. 3/1
7.6 to AJ Redmond, Redmond, looking to tuck this round the corner, instead hits this straight into the waiting hands of Deonarine at leg slip, who is able to take a sharp chance. The West Indian fielders run around in celebration, and New Zealand are now 15 for 2. 15/2
11.4 to HD Rutherford, and Rutherford has fallen hook, line and sinker as Shillingford entices him with another juicy tossed up delivery, as Rutherford goes through with the midwicket heave. Shannon Gabriel, stationed at long-on just for that shot, takes it easily in the end. Silly shot that as Rutherford was starting to open up. 31/3
15.3 to BB McCullum, McCullum goes for another big sweep but gets this all completely wrong as he top edges it, with the ball going straight up in the air. Ramdin calls it and takes the catch. The West Indians starting to believe they can pull an upset here in Dunedin. Still much to do though. 44/4
