43.5 to Younis Khan, gone. Broad strikes. Big wicket. Younis picks out square leg. Exaggerated inswing on middle, Younis, who is standing outside his crease, uses hard hands to flick and hits is straight to square leg who takes it in front of his chest, hands reverse cupped. Just when this stand looked set. 134/4
95.5 to Misbah-ul-Haq, another one goes, straight through him! Broad gets Misbah and the collapse gains momentum... Seemed to beat him for pace, bit of inward movement off the pitch and it rattled into the top of middle and off. Misbah will get an ovation for a fine innings but that is a big blow to Pakistan's chances of getting many more on the board. 316/9
99.2 to Mohammad Amir, angled in and then curling away to take the edge - snapped up at slip, it's all over! A third wicket for Broad and that ensures the last-wicket pair won't torment England for long. A decent total for Pakistan, but not as intimidating as it could have been. 339/10
1955112.68939010
27.4 to Azhar Ali, fires in the yorker, he's knocked Azhar off his feet... and up goes Kumar Dharmasena's finger! Ball clenches his fists in celebration of his first Test wicket, but he'll have to wait a minute or two to fully enjoy it as Azhar reviews the decision. On second glance it is quite leg side, this could still be tight - no, it's clipping! The luck is with England this time, Azhar shakes his head as he trudges off. Hawk-Eye adjudged it to be juuuuuuuuuust shaving leg stump and that's enough to support Dharmasena's original call. Ball has his first Test scalp. 77/3
2477062.9111411000
12.1 to Shan Masood, tasty lifter from Woakes, snicks the outside edge - that's gottim! England finally get their reward and it is the formerly luckless Woakes who strikes. Decent ball in the channel, bounced a bit on Masood, although he might have left it on length anyway. Lord's sighs in contentment at last. 38/1
16.4 to Mohammad Hafeez, gone. Hafeez falls. Woakes has another. Looking for a tad too much was Hafeez. Woakes bangs this one in on a shortish length and Hafeez plays a tame stroke. Gets some outswing - even from that length - but Hafeez wanted to flick through square leg. The ball gets big on him and takes the top edge. Lobs up towards square leg. Bairstow called early, and took it comfortably, fielders hustling out of his way. 51/2
84.2 to Asad Shafiq, uh oh. What a way to go. Woakes strikes. Swing does it. Outswing does it. A good length outside off, moving away. Shafiq wants to play but sees how much the ball is swinging and do decides to withdraw his bat. Does so a tad too late as the ball snicks the under edge of the bat and carries to Bairstow, just about. End of quite a special innings for Shafiq, too. Ah, he'll rue a missed opportunity though. 282/5
86.6 to Rahat Ali, bowled im of the last ball of the day. Poor shot. Rahat has done his job though. But that improves things for England. Short and wide outside off, Rahat gets on top of the bounce and inside-edges one onto his stumps. What an end to the day. Woakes gets another.. 282/6
94.4 to Sarfaraz Ahmed, short and slapped... straight to backward point! Woakes has five-for and Sarfraz has fizzled out rather disappointingly. That was a ball to be given a darn good thrashing but he didn't get over the cut and it sailed to Vince, who held on this time falling to his right. 310/7
94.6 to Wahab Riaz, bowled him, neck and crop! Two-card trick from Woakes, a feisty outswinger followed by a full, straight delivery that blew through Wahab's flimsy defence and made the most satisfying noise a fast bowler can hear. 310/8

45.2 to AN Cook, there it is! Amir strikes, and what a blow it is...the England captain drags into his stumps. No fielders needed. Cook pushing away from his body at a full delivery and the inside edge goes into the timber. 173/5
1416814.855210000
1.6 to AD Hales, edged and taken. Hales falls. Rahat has Hales. Superb delivery, impeccable lines and Hales nicks to third slip. Rather full outside off, but forces Hales to play because of inswing off the previous deliveries. Hales wafts and gets a thick outside edge, which carries comfortably to third slip who takes it in front of his midriff. Sensational start for Pakistan. 8/1
18.106713.68748002
75.4 to SCJ Broad, goes for the yorker again - and that's a bingo! Wahab hits his mark and picks up his first wicket, the way Broad bats this was meat and drink for him, short ball, short ball, yorker, yorker. Tails in to hit the back foot before rattling the base of the stumps and the castle is captured. 260/8
2967262.481329000
28.3 to JE Root, oh no. Root falls. Not a great shot, I must say. Tossed up outside off, the flight was probably an invitation. He settled down on one knee and looks to slog sweep this over midwicket. Maybe a bit of extra bounce but Root skies this through a top edge. Hafeez wanders under the ball at midwicket and takes it, as awkwardly as possible. Job done though for Hafeez. Great opportunity missed, looked so good. 118/2
34.5 to JM Vince, given this time. Dharmasena takes an eternity but eventually gives it. Vince takes even longer, but decides to review. No bat on that. Very flat on leg, no turn. But Vince goes back again, this time misses his flick. Strikes him flush on the pads in front of leg. And that dubious umpire's call is displayed as the ball clips the leg stump. Vince has to go. Trudges off, exasperation in his face. That would have been not out had it been given not out on the field. Didn't look like a confident decision at all, but not a howler so Vince has to accept his fate. 139/3
36.6 to GS Ballance, gone. This looked out. Beautiful from Yasir. Ballance has a word with Cook but then walks off. So Ballance's return is subdued. Superb bowling though. Floats this one up towards off, gets just enough turn to draw Ballance forward and beat him on the inside edge. Smashes his pads right in front. Beautiful bit of bowling, flight, loop and just enough turn. Not much Ballance could do.. 147/4
50.1 to JM Bairstow, done him! Another for Yasir. Bairstow playing back, goes for a cut to a ball that was far too full for the shot...poor choice from Bairstow, but lovely deception by Yasir. 193/6
61.2 to MM Ali, given by umpire Joel Wilson. I would not have been giving that. Moeen reviews immediately. A flat legspinner outside off spins back in sharply. Moeen gets low on one knee and looks for the conventional hard sweep. May have struck him outside the line. A spike as the ball passes bat but the third umpire says "may be the scraping of the feet". "Happy that no bat involved" says the umpire. Impact - Umpire's call. Stumps - Umpire's call. Moeen has to go. Just a tad too much doubt I felt. Again, fine margins in cricket and Yasir Shah has five in his first Test outside Asia, what an effort. 232/7
78.2 to ST Finn, skidding on, pinballs into the pads, Finn is standing right in front of his poles... and up goes the finger! Looked a pretty straightforward decision for Kumar Dharmasena and Yasir has his sixth wicket. Sure enough, Hawk-Eye has it nudging leg stump, umpire's call. Pakistan going about their business efficiently. 267/9

2.4 to Mohammad Hafeez, Broad strikes and lets out a roar. The Professor's lecture is over (it never started, in fact). Out for a 11-ball duck. This is dug in shorter and outside off. Hafeez could have left it alone on length and line. Instead, he chases, does so half-heartedly and guides it to Root at second slip. Smart catch, he clasped it at chest height. Not a great shot, considering Cook had deployed a three-man slip cordon to add to a gully. 2/1
77.6 to Yasir Shah, banged in short and Yasir gloves a pull through Bairstow! No delay in the decision from Kumar Dharmasena and Broad strikes in the first over of the day, Yasir won't be making any more mischief with the bat... That's Broad's 350th wicket in Tests, too. Well done him. 214/9
79.1 to Mohammad Amir, and they won't be adding any more, as Amir tickles a waft through to the keeper! England will be mighty pleased with that, just one run added and two wickets taken in 13 balls... which means Pakistan have been dismissed for 215, setting England 283 to win the first Test. 215/10
1673702.31796000
1344203.23597000
1863251.77893000
17.5 to Shan Masood, pushed across outside off, takes the edge... and Cook clasps it low at first slip! Nicely set up by Woakes and that is a vital breakthrough for England, who need to induce some jitters in the Pakistan line-up. Brought a couple back in, pitched one up for the drive, then drew his length back to nick the batsman off. 44/2
27.5 to Azhar Ali, on the stumps, Azhar walks across and misses this time... and after a long deliberation from Dharmasena, up goes the finger! Azhar reviews, however, just as he did with a tight lbw in the first innings. This is going to be close, you can see a little bit of leg as he moved into line, no bat involved and the impact was in line... it's clipping again! Another really marginal call for Azhar, he walks off shaking his head again but it's in the book and England have a third. 59/3
59.5 to Asad Shafiq, through him! And it's Woakes again...Shafiq one short of his fifty. Back of a length, nips back and skims past the inside edge to clip the top of the stumps. Lovely bowling. What a game he's having. 168/6
74.3 to Sarfaraz Ahmed, Sarfraz snicks behind. Woakes has a match haul of ten wickets. Well done. Nice and full, largely holds its line outside off. A crease-bound Sarfraz flirts and feathers an edge, carries low to YJB. End of another busy innings from Sarfraz. Woakes is mobbed by his team-mates. 208/7
76.1 to Wahab Riaz, Woakes has his fifth of the innings? An appeal for caught behind. Wilson's finger goes up. Wahab wants to review. Lifter from Woakes, angled in on off, Wahab ducks into it and gets into an awkward tangle. The ball brushes the glove, the ball balloons behind, and YJB snaps it up. "Clearly hits the glove," confirms Tucker, the TV umpire. Second five-for of the match for Woakes. Surprising review, that. Wahab bags a pair while Woakes holds the ball up and gives the thumbs-up. 214/8
1334923.76516001
30.1 to Misbah-ul-Haq, Misbah attacks, slogged into the leg side... and Hales takes a brilliant catch running along the deep midwicket boundary! HUGE wicket for England and a little bit of revenge for Moeen, who tossed it up in the knowledge he had a man out there, encouraged Misbah to go after him and gets his reward. Lord's erupts!. 60/4
50.3 to Younis Khan, dragged on! Moeen has another huge wicket! Younis went back to cut, takes a bottom edge into the stumps...not quite as short as Younis thought, turned quite significantly, too. 129/5

71.1 to SCJ Broad, it's a weakness that's been following his career lately. The worry over the short ball, and therefore the inadequacy against the fuller one. Broad flails at it, his feet drifting towards leg just a touch and his bat whirling down desperately. Amir breaks through the defences and then the stumps. A hush descends over Lord's as Amir smiles in relief.. 196/8
75.5 to JT Ball, there it is! And it is Amir! Six years after the worst day of his life at Lord's, he claims the final England wicket to fall that gives Pakistan a victory at this venue for the first time since 1996. It's full, it's straight, its quick and it cleans up the debutant Jake Ball. You can see the emotion in his eyes as he spreads his arms and takes off.. 207/10
1404733.35658010
3.1 to AN Cook, that'll do it, Cook feathers through to Sarfraz and Pakistan get their first! Slightly back of a length, Cook fending on off stump, it was the tiniest of edges but he knew it had made contact, Dharmasena's finger went up pretty quickly and the England captain ruefully turned to head for the pavilion. Kissed goodbye by a decent ball from Rahat. 19/1
7.1 to AD Hales, bit of width, Hales tries to cut... but top-edges to Hafeez who makes a good grab at first slip! Rahat has another, Pakistan pushing England back on to the ropes in the first few rounds. More positive intent from Hales but it was a bit too close for the shot, jumped to clip the edge and it went quickly, which made it an excellent take by Hafeez. 32/2
13.4 to JE Root, oh dear me! That's a second time in this match that he's given his wicket away! Optimistic pull, especially with the man in the deep and with the ball moving across him, at about chest-high. Yasir skips to his right, takes the catch with his feet off the ground and as ever wears a giant smile on his face like he's just stepping off the world's wildest roller coaster. Root, meanwhile, is walking back, head drooping and legs like lead. 47/3
3196942.221478000
37.2 to GS Ballance, you have got to be kidding me! That turned from one edge of the pitch to the other! Shades of Warne bowling Strauss in 2005 as Ballance shuffles across to what he thinks is an easy flick behind square leg. The problem is, the ball, having pitched short of a length well outside off stump, bites into the footmarks and dances past his pads and with no more obstructions kisses the leg stump. Ah, the romance.. 135/5
39.1 to MM Ali, well, you may concede that Moeen was looking to upset the main threat. To take him off his line, to rob him off his composure. Instead he loses his middle stump. Mooen races down the track and looks for the glory shot - straight back over the leggie's head. But he is beaten by flight and left forlorn in the middle of the pitch as the ball dips past the inside edge of his bat and clatters the stumps. Didn't get to the pitch of the ball. Not even close. A gift for Pakistan.. 139/6
70.5 to JM Bairstow, he's bent over, a picture of despair, the realisation that all of his work, all of his toil, may well come to nothing. And as a result of what? A straight ball, that he should have whacked. Yasir has pitched it a little short, which is why Bairstow went back. He tries to play it with perhaps too closed a face, which allows for just a little gap between bat and pad, which is all the ball needed. Yasir has taken off on a run, in his mind, he has almost won the game for Pakistan. 195/7
74.4 to CR Woakes, forget about Finn! Ten in the match for Yasir and he races away in delight, and much like the man he resembles, slides onto the turf (though you wonder if Messi would look as ungainly or wearing so bright a smile) A loopy old delivery outside off to tempt the drive, Woakes feels he can hit it to get two or a boundary, so he goes for it with hard hands. Thick edge, caught by Younis at slip at his chest, sharply too. 204/9
1314613.53546001
23.4 to JM Vince, pitched up outside off stump, Vince goes for the drive, thick-edged to second slip... and Younis holds on at the second attempt! This time the juggle works for Younis, Vince is a goner, Wahab is steaming off on a victory lap and the chants of "Pakistan, Zindabad!" get louder at Lord's. The ball reversed just enough, down the slope and away from the stroke, nearly popped out by Younis went with it and kept his composure to hold on. 96/4
