22.2 to JC Buttler, shot, attacking the lid with sharp lift and aggression, Buttler pulls loosely, a flimsy top-edge, ricochets off the helmet, and that is a massive, massive punch to England's collective kidneys!. 100/5
24.4 to MM Ali, edged, and Amla has another! Moeen has a mow, up on the toes, trying to force the pace through the covers, but Abbott's line and lift off the deck was too much for him to control. A much more regulation snaffle this time, and England are in utter disarray!. 108/6
9.514544.57346010
5.3 to JJ Roy, dug in short, Roy top-edges a hook... and it flies to Abbott running in from fine leg! Neither opener looked to have got the pace of the surface and Roy is the one to go trying to force his way up through the gears. The result is an awful squeal of metal on metal and an ungainly leg-trap dismissal. 18/1
41.2 to CR Woakes, banged in short, Woakes sticks up his bat like a periscope - and tickles it to the keeper! Rabada breaks the stand at 95, a bit too quick for Woakes, I think, and his lollipop across the line comes to grief. He's done a fine job of staving off a complete collapse, though. 203/7
47.2 to SCJ Broad, Broad lumps a leg-side shovel into the hands of long-on! Slower ball from Rabada, mistimed heave for cow corner and Duminy makes sure to cling on after settling under it. Rabada has another. 258/9
47.5 to AU Rashid, full outside off, Rashid makes room to hit over the ring... but screws his drive to the left of mid-off, where de Villiers dives to finish the innings off! A spirited knock from Rashid but England are dismissed short - in both senses, most likely. 262/10
905215.77276020
44.4 to JE Root, full length outside off, Root goes across and tries to scoop... and sends it up and down, straight to short fine leg! Nice idea but he got more elevation than length and Tahir makes no mistake, hovering underneath it. Root was completely out of gas, no more running for him as he tried to make the ball do the work. 233/8
1005805.80298000
1004634.60241000
17.6 to AD Hales, down on one knee, looking for the massive mow, he connects well enough but he's picked out the sweeper at deep midwicket!. 87/2
19.4 to EJG Morgan, outside off, climbing off the deck, and forget my earlier sentiment, that is a very fine ball indeed! Extra bounce, Morgan can't get on top of the shot and spoons straight to point!. 95/3
19.6 to BA Stokes, edged, and what a catch from Amla! A firm-wristed poke outside off to the googly, and Amla, reflexively flinging himself to his right like a rampant salmon, plucks the flying edge in one hand, and England are now deep in the mire!. 97/4

0.6 to HM Amla, outside off, Amla dangles a bat and Broad worms his way through the gate, via an inside edge and onto his off stump! The comeback king strikes in his first over!. 2/1
813924.87272100
37.2 to F Behardien, wow! A full length, a flat hard chip straight down the track, and Topley belies his lumbering Gus Fraser-lite frame to stick out his left mitt, pinch his forefingers round the ball as it whipped past his knees, and Behardien has to walk!. 191/6
41.3 to K Rabada, gone, first ball! Morgan offered his bowler a slip, Topley accepted it with glee, and a firm drive from Rabada is grabbed by Root at the second attempt!. 210/8
814215.25326110
14.1 to F du Plessis, bowled him! Stunning from Woakes, full, swinging, unstoppable, as du Plessis' stumps are splattered, tailing in, then bursting away, and the leg bail zings off into the stratosphere. This is getting tasty now! England persevered and got their reward, and there's a fight to the finish on the cards now .... 63/3
1004524.50322110
13.4 to Q de Kock, bowled him! De Kock has been stopped, he's chopped it onto his leg stump! Tight line outside off, tried to manufacture a run down to third man but the ball wasn't there for such shenannigans, and Stokes has got the scalp that England most desperately needed.... 63/2
40.6 to D Wiese, flings it out wide, it would have been called as such, but Wiese reached for it, found a toe-end and short cover gobbled up the offering with glee! Stokes has the scalp, and come in Kagiso, your country needs you!. 207/7
903904.33221000
5.203827.12104010
28.6 to JP Duminy, gives it a rip and Duminy is trapped plumb in front! Poor decision to play back, from the looks of it, Rashid got the ball to spin into the batsman from over the wicket, he was rooted in front of off stump, hit on the knee roll and that looked a straightforward decision - he's not reviewing and SA are five down. 143/5
47.1 to CH Morris, googly, and Rashid has stunned the Wanderers! Wow, it's like a vacuum cleaner has parked its nozzle over the top of the stadium. Morris had a wipe, glory in sight, but didn't pick it whatsoever!. 262/9
