4.3 to TM Dilshan, Caught at third man! he was not slashing or upper cutting but actually trying to whip it to the on side. he chose the wrong length for it. It landed short in length on the middle and leg and straightened. Dilshan got a leading edge and the ball swirled away to Oram at third man. 19/2
36.1 to DPMD Jayawardene, Mahela goes for DRS after being given lbw. It lands full in length on the middle stump line and slid towards the leg stump. Mahela played all around it, trying to flick it away. It would have crashed into the leg stump. 164/3
46.6 to KMDN Kulasekara, Shortish delivery, Kula pulls, Guptill nearly lost it at deep midwicket. he almost over ran to his right even as the ball seemed to have swerved to his left. Somehow, he managed to stop, tilt back and held on to the catch!. 232/7
1015715.70357111
47.5 to SL Malinga, Brendon has taken a smart catch. It was a top-edged pull and Brendon rushed back and to his left. He hared down and lunged out to take a good catch. 239/8

44.1 to TT Samaraweera, Samaraweera tries to back away and cut but gets a thick edge and Baz does well to take the catch. He was standing up to the stumps, moved his hands quickly to right to pouch that. 219/5
1004824.80253000
41.4 to KC Sangakkara, Nathan can finally smile. He has picked a wicket. Full and straight, Sanga goes for the big slog sweep but makes no contact. Clatter! Sanga has ended the ton-drought and Sri Lanka would be so glad that the skipper is in great form just ahead of the knockouts. 210/4
45.4 to LPC Silva, Nathan nearly spills this one but gets it on the rebound. Silva scooped a tame return catch but Nathan doesn't take it cleanly but lunges to catch it on the rebound. And he sports a big smile!. 224/6

34.6 to HK Bennett, oh yes. Malinga has straightened off stump with a scorcher than landed near the toes and thundered past Bennett's pointless poke. All over. The Lions have mauled the Kiwis today. This is a thumping win. And to think SL under-achieved with the bat, and had to contend with dew while bowling. Black Caps down.. 153/10
701912.71312020
7.1 to MJ Guptill, lbw, hook, like and sinker. Guptill asks if he should review it, but Ryder wisely says no chance, mate. Kulasekara's inducker strikes, this is a special skill in a world full of outswing bowlers. He lands it outside off, back of a length. Guptill reaches across for a routine defensive stroke. Then the ball lands and moves in, accentuated further by the subtle angle Kula generated when he bowled from slightly wide of the crease. Guptill knows he's in trouble, but its too late to do anything other than a meek attempt to play round the pad. Hits the pad in front of off, Hawkeye says top of leg is on the way. Gone.. 33/2
301916.3382000
6.2 to BB McCullum, Aha, Mahela takes a low catch it seems. Baz is not leaving! The third umpire has to check. First things first. An absolute peach of a legcutter from mathews, he lands this outside off and gets it to jag away off the seam. Baz was advancing into the steer, then saw it go away and tried to pull away, but the momentum was too far into the shot. It takes the edge even as he opens the face and dies away to the right of a diving Mahela ... who has taken it cleanly. The McCullums 0 - Mahela 2. What a ball, from Mathews, seam pointing away and the ball just follows suit after landing. This man's a superstar allrounder.. 29/1
602424.00202010
16.5 to JD Ryder, the stock market is looking up. Ryder's scrip is falling through. Mendis has nailed him with a straight carrom ball wafter than lands outside off and shoots through without deviation. Ryder doesn't get fully across and has a typically lazy feel for it, he was playing for the leggie. He ends up edging into Sanga's gloves.. 82/3
33.4 to TG Southee, I think it's going to be referred, but Southee is a goner for sure. Rauf has given him out lbw and it has been refered. Carom ball, lands on middle, straightens enough to be hitting leg, around 4/5ths of the way up. Hits Southee's pad as he prods forward below the roll. All over bar the shouting.. 144/9
602414.00140000
26.5 to NL McCullum, Consider the irony. Natha McCullum has been caught by Mahela Jayawardene. And there's NO DOUBT about this one. Mahela pouches the tick edge that came straight at him at slip and hops away in glee. Nathan must be disappointed that he's out. He seems absolutely gutted to see who caught him. Dilshan is pleased to join the fun. Full delivery outside off, Nathan looks to play a forcing drive through the covers and gets an outside edge. It flies into Mahela and he consumes it with those safe hands. Irony.. 115/7
802543.12332001
19.2 to KS Williamson, Sanga has done him in! Murali has done him in! Williamson looks completely foxed, Sanga jumps in joy, Murali's eyes smile more than his lips! This is top notch stuff from the old firm. Murali lands a doosra full and just outside off, Williamson leans out for the defensive, but it doesn't turn in. It goes away, and Williamson did not even know he was being lulled into a trap. He blindly dragged the backfoot out. Sanga collected, and removed the bails before you could say "Stumped" Gone!. 88/4
21.1 to LRPL Taylor, Murali is eating away at the NZ line up. Given lbw, but Taylor has refered it. Looked plumb. Did it land outside leg? The mat is awaited. Offie lands around leg stump, the mat is in, and the ball lands just inside the mat and the offie straightens enough to hit middle. Taylor was prodding forward, but he wasn't 2.5 m ahead. Gone. Murali on two legs is lethal. Murali, one on leg with a strained hammie seems to be even more lethal.. 93/5
23.5 to SB Styris, Muralitharan. Gazillion wickets in the international game. Still, as joyful as a school kid who got candy, every time he gets a wicket. He slows up the offie in the air and flights it generously on off and middle. Styris is a goner even before he knew it as he came forward into the drive. Fooled by the flight, foxed by the pace. He just scoops the drive back a foot and a half above Murali. The rest happens in slow motion. Murali jumps up, Murali collects. Mural lands. Murali jumps up again in joy, with the eyes popping and the lips widening into a smile. Two lovely jumps, one after the other. The ball is tossed up in the air, he collects it as it comes down and breaks into a joyous guffaw. Boy, cricket will miss Murali after this World Cup.. 102/6
31.3 to JEC Franklin, catching practice for the man who has come up to short cover. Murali has given NZ a lesson on playing offspin here. He's used spin, flight, dip, bounce - all elements of a spinner's guile to bamboozle a bunch that had no idea which one was turning which way. Slow and looped up on off, Franklin is late getting forward, doesn't quite get there and scoops a defensive push straight into Dilshan's lap. Easy as they come.. 129/8
