The ICC World Cup Qualifier 2014 will be contested by 10 teams which have been seeded and divided into two groups:

Group A Group B
UAE (1) Netherlands (2)
Scotland (3) Kenya (4)
Canada (6) Namibia (5)
Hong Kong (8) PNG (7)
Nepal (9) Uganda (10)

Each team will play every other team in its group. Points will be allocated for each match in accordance with the system described in clause 21.10 of these playing conditions, which will apply throughout the competition.

21.9.2 Super Six Stage

Following the Group stage the top 3 teams in each group will progress to the next phase (the Super Six stage). Each team will play every other team that has qualified for the Super Six stage except for the teams that it played in the Group stage. The results of the Group stage matches and any points gained against the other teams from the group that qualify will be carried forward to the Super Six stage. No other points from the Group stage will be carried forward to the Super Six stage.

At the end of the Super Six Stage the top 2 teams will qualify for CWC2015 and contest the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2014 Final (1st/2nd Playoff Final).

The remaining 4 teams will be ranked 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th according to their final position in the Super Six stage.

Note: teams will retain their group ranking in the Super Six stage regardless of how they finish in the group stage. If a team outside the top 6 ranked teams qualifies for the Super Six stage it will take the place of the team it replaces. (e.g. If the team ranked A1 qualify for the Super Six they will be A1 regardless of where they finish in the group, however if they don't qualify and the team ranked A5 qualifies in their place, A5 would then be A1).

21.9.3 Playoff Ranking Matches

At the end of the Group stage the following ranking matches will take place for those teams not qualifying for the Super Six stage:

  • Playoff 1 - B4 v A5
  • Playoff 2 - A4 v B5
  • Playoff 3 - Winner Playoff 1 v Winner Playoff 2
  • Playoff 4 - Loser Playoff 1 v Loser Playoff 2
