When Namibia defeated Kenya in the final of the African Under-19 Championship to earn a place at the 2008 World Cup in Malaysia, they had every reason to thank Elandrè Oosthuizen. Having been left out of the side at the beginning of the tournament, he finished as his country's leading wicket-taker with an average of 11.88, and in the final came on as the first-change bowler to take 5 for 35 from 8.2 overs with his left-arm swing. He is now an established member of the youth team, but is a typical No. 11 batsman and will need to work on his batting if he is to break into the senior squad.
