4.45pm So, that wraps up proceedings from this first T20. We will be back on Tuesday to see how Zimbabwe respond. Until then, see ya.

4.30pm Pakistan successfully defend 136 and in the process, record their eight T20 win against Zimbabwe in eight attempts. But, Zimbabwe should be proud of their performance. They were exceptional for large chunks of the game but lost the important moments. Pakistan can be very grateful to Imad Wasim's all-round performance and the youngsters have come through for Pakistan. Some iffy shots from the batsmen in the chase and in hindsight, were the turning points of the game.

Imad Wasim is the Man of the Match. 'Everything I touched, turned into gold today. Some days it doesn't pay off, but today it did. I tried to bowl wicket-wicket and the basics paid off. I have to play for the team and whenever I am sent in, i will look to do the job given to me.'

Elton Chigumbura: 'It was a good score to chase down. We just lost too many wickets at the end. Disappointing to lose a game like this. The wicket was a bit slow and difficult, but requiring 6 runs an over, it was good to bat on. We have come close on many occasions but are just losing.'

Shahid Afridi: 'We didn't play according to the plan. Credit goes to the bowlers. it was a 160-170 pitch but we just did not bat well. The bowlers used the pitch, and I am very happy with the bowlers, especially Imran Khan in that last over. The batsmen need to take up their repsonsibility.'

Imran Khan to Panyangara, no run

another slower delivery outside off, Panyangara is quick through the shot and misses the ball altogether and that will be it. Pakistan go 1-0 up in the two-match series. Zimbabwe fall 13 runs short

19.5
1
Imran Khan to Utseya, 1 run

full toss on leg, Utseya hits the ball uppishly towards midwicket.

19.4
Imran Khan to Utseya, no run

dipping slow full toss, Utseya is beaten all ends up. And that should be the end of the match

Saim Polani: "Best pair (Rizwan & Imran) in domestic t20 and they are proiving out to be best pair in International cricket too!!"

1
Imran Khan to Panyangara, 1 run

low full toss, driven down the ground to long-off for one.

19.2
Imran Khan to Panyangara, no run

very slow ball outside off, hardly bounces too. Another heave is missed and there is no bye either

Great tussle from zimbabwe, but without a boundary soon, it will all be in vain

W
Imran Khan to Utseya, OUT

oh, what an anti-climax. Chigumbura is run-out. Utseya misses the heave into the leg side, Chigumbura calls for the single though. Rizwan throws the stumps down at the strikers end to find Chigumbura well short. The wicket Pakistan needed at just the right time, too.

Elton Chigumbura run out (†Mohammad Rizwan) 31 (28b 2x4 1x6 48m) SR: 110.71

16 needed off 6. Imran Khan has been given the ball. But Utseya is on strike.

18.4

Tanvir to Utseya, FOUR runs

Utseya finds the boundary, just what Zimbabwe needed too. Slower delivery on middle, Utseya just helps the ball along its way past short fine leg for four.

18.3
1
Tanvir to Chigumbura, 1 run

great delivery. Speared into the blockhole. Chigumbura manages to keep the ball out and drive to cover

18.2

Tanvir to Utseya, 1 run

low full toss on off stump, Utseya looks to muscle the ball down the ground, gets a single to long-on

18.1
1
Tanvir to Chigumbura, 1 run

back of a length on middle, Chigumbura taps the ball to point and calls for one. Not a bad option, keeping Zim in the match for as long as possible and try to find the boundary towards the end of the over

Some fantastic batting from Elton Chigumbura. Some great finishing skills. But can he do more and get Zimbabwe through with the tail? Will be a remarkable effort. The experienced Sohail Tanvir will bowl though.

Shahid: "Zim needs just 2 big shots to make the game interesting. It will be a good finish if Zim don't lose these two wickets till end. wishing for a good finish. "

Wahab Riaz to Chigumbura, 1 wide

ooh, wide now. Very full and wide. Chigumbura can't get bat on that but the umpire does well to call that a wide under pressure.

17.4
4
Wahab Riaz to Chigumbura, FOUR runs

and he gets it, wow. Low full toss again with a hint of tail. Chigs gets a thick outside edge down to the third man boundary. That makes things interesting.

A boundary here would be good for the match

17.3
1
Wahab Riaz to Utseya, 1 run

full and wide, in fact was a low full toss, Utseya creams the ball to the sweeper cover

17.2
1
Wahab Riaz to Chigumbura, 1 run

Wahab Riaz to Chigumbura, 2 runs

full and wide, good ball. But Chigs squirts the ball down to third man off the outside edge. Good fielding at the boundary but they get two
