Well, a low-scoring encounter turns out to be close. India have snuck in a good win to boost their morale and leave this tournament just that much more exciting as it means they need a win in the final league match on Friday. The West Indies, led by Dwayne Smith, bowled extremely well to bowl India out for 162, but in reply they turned in a bad effort in the face of a spirited Indian bowling attack.

So this is the deal: India must win on Friday, thats obvious, while Australia can get through with a tie or a wash-out. The West Indies have to yet again address their woeful middle and lower order batting when chasing. They have three days to do so before the final.

Harbhajan Singh has been awarded the Man-of-the-Match award for his crucial 37 and 3 for 35.

That's all we have for you today. I hope you've enjoyed our coverage. Do join us for what promises to be a cracker on Friday, September 22. Until then, this is Jamie Alter signing off. Cheers, and good evening.

Sreesanth to Collymore, OUT

all over, thats it! A quick, good length delivery on middle and leg, Collymore is just rooted at the crease and gets hit in line, that one did keep slightly low, looks likely to take leg stump, every Indian goes up in appeal and the umpire slowly raises his finger! Sreesanth gets the final wicket, India have won by 16 runs, they've done their shot at the finals no harm

Harbhajan to Baugh, OUT

he's gone! Tossed up outside off, its the arm ball, Baugh is leaden-footed as he has been for most of his innings, stands there and pokes at it, the ball kisses the edge and pops into Dravid's hands, he takes a good catch and West Indies are nine down, we have a cracker here
