120.6 to PM Siddle, Bhajji finally gets a wicket in his 100th Test. Finally Sehwag takes a catch. He has worked Siddle out well. After that slow doosra, he bowls full and fast, and Siddle guides this to slip. Sehwag is awake, and Harbhajan has a wicket, who looks towards the skies in sheer relief. 364/9
421210372.451969100
14.3 to EJM Cowan, Ashwin gets the wicket finally. Cowan is gone. Lovely dismissal on all counts. Tossed up, dips on him, Cowan wants to hit another six, not near the ball at all. The ball turns and bounces, Dhoni collects it in front of his chest, and nonchalantly stumps him. 64/1
18.3 to PJ Hughes, bowled'im. Ashwin gets another. Hughes has played on. This is short, turning away giving him the room, but he doesn't play the proper cut. Just pushes at it with his arms, and gets an inside edge onto the leg stump. Had he played the proper full-blooded cut, he would have got four for this. Ashwin won't mind it, though. He has bowled some superb deliveries earlier, which have not got him wickets. 72/2
34.4 to SR Watson, and Ashwin strikes soon after lunch. Done in by the low bounce. Short of a length, outside off, he is going back but this skids through. It would have hit the stumps for sure, but might or might not have hit him just outside the line of off. The replays are not entirely conclusive, but it looks more outside the line than in. 126/3
36.4 to DA Warner, Warner has played with fire far too often and for far too long. Continues staying back to fullish deliveries. He has been misjudging the length too often to have carried on with this innings. Goes back deep into the crease. The trajectory is flat all right, but the length is much fuller. He is late in bringing the bat down, and is caught dead in front. 131/4
46.6 to MS Wade, all five for Ashwin so far. Tossed up on middle and leg, straightens after that. Wade plays down the wrong line altogether, and is hit in front. That's pretty adjacent, although Wade doesn't seem happy when walking back. 153/5
89.2 to MC Henriques, Ashwin has six out of six. Henriques out sweeping. This is a big offbreak, has beaten the bat, and seems to have hit him in front of off. Was it turning too far? I thought so, but on replays this looks closer. 304/6
132.6 to NM Lyon, finally Dharmasena raises his finger. Don't think he was left with an option. Offbreak, middle and leg, swept away, gets an edge fine, and Kohli takes a superb catch to his right at backward short leg. Ashwin's best figures in first-class cricket. 380/10
36107121.971694000
90.1 to MA Starc, Ashwin won't get 10. Natural variation from Jadeja. Starc defends playing for turn, but this length ball goes straight on, beats the outside edge, and hits the off stump. 307/7
119.1 to MJ Clarke, Clarke has finally got out. And the wicket comes - as Dhoni has been expecting for hours - through a mistake by the batsman. Clarke skips down the track, is not close to the pitch of the ball, but goes ahead with an attempt to loft it straight down the ground. The ball turns, and hits the outside half of the bat, and Clarke holes out to long-off. 361/8

3.2 to M Vijay, Pattinson, you beauty. Yorker at 150ks. Timbahhhhh. Actually not quite a yorker. But really full, at 150kmph, swinging in a little. Vijay looks to drive, but he has been done in by the sheer pace of this, and he is late, and gets an inside edge onto the stumps. They check for a no-ball, but he is fine, and only just. A little bit of heel is behind the line, and then the foot slides over. 11/1
5.2 to V Sehwag, Sehwag plays on. Slow to react. Very slow to react on two counts. I am not sure the optometrist is going to get many endorsements. This serious pace. Short of a length, seaming in from outside off, 147ks, Sehwag defends, but the ball bounces inside the crease and takes an eternity to go up and come down on the top of the leg stump. Sehwag doesn't react to the possibility of that happening at all. In fact he spots the ball only after it bounces on the leg stump. 12/2
28.4 to CA Pujara, bowled him. Timbah. He has bowled three batsmen out today. Pattinson is on absolute fire. This is a good-old offcutter at 140ks. Stays low too, beats his bat for the lack of bounce and hits the middle stump. 105/3
102.6 to RA Jadeja, and Jadeja falls 284 runs short of what would have been a fourth first-class triple-century. Pattinson bowls short of a length, not too far outside off, Jadeja leaves it alone in a premeditated fashion, and he hits the top of off. Pattinson's big effort continues. 365/6
146.3 to MS Dhoni, Dhoni is out finally. Pattinson gets five. He has bowled his heart out, and has fittingly ended a superb innings from the opposition captain. Dhoni falls on 224, eight short of the highest score by a wicketkeeper. This is a bouncer, on middle and leg, Dhoni gets inside the line to hook, but ends up gloving it through to Wade. The sparse crowd, and the full dressing room stand up in appreciation for the innings. Well played, captain. 546/9
24.356612.691098000
154.3 to B Kumar, slower ball gets Siddle his first wicket. BK drives at it, is early into the shot, and has lobbed this to mid-off for an easy catch. The dressing room stands for BK too. He has helped his captain build the lead, and also managed the highest score by an Indian debutant from No. 10. 572/10
47121534.5717218700
63.1 to SR Tendulkar, oh Lyon, what a beauty. That's a lovely offspinner's dismissal. They dream of these, and when you do this to Tendulkar in a Test in Chennai, oh boy what a feeling. Tossed up outside off, exactly in that rough, Tendulkar drives away from the body, and it spins sharply through the gate. Reminiscent of the way Vaughan got him. This one might even have taken the inside edge. 196/4
89.2 to V Kohli, yes Lyon is indeed looking forward to it. He has stemmed that flood. Kohli has got carried away a bit. Tis is tossed up, Kohli thinks he can go over mid-on, but it is a little too full, and he is a little too close to the pitch of the ball, and doesn't get the desired elevation. Having said that, he has timed this superbly, and it takes a superb effort from Starc to catch this overhead at mid-on. 324/5
105.4 to R Ashwin, flighted delivery outside off, Ashwin wants to drive it towards mid-on, gets an inside edge onto the pad, and it then rolls onto the stumps. Sixth bowled dismissal in the innings. Seven is the record, I am being told. 372/7
1744812.82817100
115.2 to Harbhajan Singh, another man bowled. Seventh so far. Harbhajan plays a tailender's shot, Dhoni is not pleased with it. Walks down the wicket, slogs across the line and misses the line of the ball by feet. The off stump goes for a walk. First Test wicket for Henriques. he does some air-boxing to celebrate. 406/8

15.6 to SR Watson, Ashwin gets Watson with the last ball before lunch. The crowd erupts too. This is what offspinners should be bowling on this pitch. Flighted, slower through the air, wider outside off, and then it dips. Watson, who wants to play a forward-defensive, discovers he is not close to the pitch of the ball, and the ball turns and bounces to go off the glove or the shoulder of the bat for an easy catch to slip. 34/1
28.6 to EJM Cowan, Dharmasena's finger finally goes up, and it is a superb call again. Cowan is disappointed with the call because presumably he thinks he has been given out caught bat-pad, but he is out lbw here. This i what happened: quick deliver, pitched middle, straightened, and hit him in front of middle. In between, Cowan's bat hit the boot, and Vijay went up for the catch too. However, officially he has been given out lbw, and it looks pretty straight on that count. In fact the only thing that could have saved him was an edge, and he would have been out in that case too. 64/2
49.3 to MJ Clarke, Huge wicket of Clarke arrives. It took a really naughty trick from the pitch to get him. Flighted but short, Clarke goes back to cut, but it spins sharply and stays low, and hits his back pad just in front of off. Was it spinning too much? I doubt. For he is on the back foot and there isn't a long way to go. 131/6
63.1 to JL Pattinson, Sehwag takes a low catch for a change. Ashwin goes over the wicket, this one turns from around leg-stump line, Pattinson punches, gets the edge with the sharp turn, ad Sehwag pouches a sharp one by his toes. 161/8
65.5 to MA Starc, Ashwin gets a second five-for for the match. No. 12 for him. Starc was not going to die wondering, but he was going to die nonetheless. This is tossed up high by Ashwin, too much for Starc to resist, the ball grips the surface, makes him mis-hit, and Tendulkar takes an easy catch at deepish mid-on. 175/9
2765522.031324200
38.5 to DA Warner, Bhajji gets the wicket, and it's his trademark lbw to a left-hander. The ball drifts, pitches middle, holds its line, beats the inside edge and traps the batsman in the front. All boxes ticked on this one. And it's pad-first. We've been expecting you, Mr Singh. 101/4
44.5 to MS Wade, Bhajji gets another. Wade's patience runs out. Sweeps all around a straight delivery, and is bowled off stump. Fullish, on off, squeezes under the bat. 121/5
3187232.321476000
29.5 to PJ Hughes, it doesn't matter if the last one did, because this one has. This is a bouncer from a spinner. From a good length no less. Snarls and spits at him, Hughes tries to get out of the way, but the ball follows him and hits the glove. The lob is taken at slip. 65/3
55.4 to PM Siddle, this was a'coming. That much spin has got into the tailender's head, and he sweeps across its line, missing a straight ball by a week, and is bowled. 137/7
92.6 to NM Lyon, and Jadeja gets the final wicket. Darted in again, Lyon puts his pad forward in defence, but the extra bounce gets a bit of an inside edge onto the pad, and short leg accepts the catch. 241/10

2.6 to M Vijay, lovely catch by Henriques at mid-off. Vijay tries a big drive outside off, the ball stops a little, and he fails to keep it down, and Henriques takes an overhead stunner at a very close mid-off. 16/1
5.302915.27220300
9.2 to V Sehwag, this is a dismissal you see very rarely with Sehwag. Out defending to a spinner. The only two times I remember this is today and Mumbai second innings against England. Psychological blows against the openers struck. Sehwag pushes out in defence, the ball doesn't turn, takes the edge, and slip does the rest. Crowd, though, is cheering. We know why. Come on Tendulkar, disappoint the. Send Kohli in. 36/2
