England will be without fast bowler Katherine Brunt for the rest of their tour of South Africa after she suffered a back injury during the ODI defeat in Centurion. Tash Farrant has been called up to replace her.
Brunt was only able to bowl five overs in the second ODI after suffering a back spasm and her absence hindered England's ability to defend 262. Defeat cost them further points in the ICC Women's Championship - they are currently fifth, two points behind South Africa and outside the cut-off point for automatic World Cup qualification.
Brunt's injury could also affect her availability for the World T20, which takes place in India next month, although England are hopeful that she will be fit to take part. She will return to the UK next week for further scans.
Left-arm seamer Farrant, whose last England appearance came at the end of their 2013-14 Ashes tour, will not arrive in time to take part in the third ODI on Sunday. She and allrounder Nat Sciver, who missed the ODIs while recovering from an ankle injury, will be available for the T20 series, which begins in Paarl on Thursday.
