A mature batsman who debuted for Western Australia at 27, Swart made a duck in his maiden FR Cup game but made up for that with 83 in his first Sheffield Shield match. He also impressed with 57 on a difficult first-morning Gabba pitch and at the end of the season won a contract with Warriors.
