A bruising striker of the ball, Nicholas Standford has been a pillar of USA's Twenty20 teams since making his senior team debut in 2013. Born in Barbados, he came to New York as a teenager and initially appeared on the domestic scene for the New York Under-19 squad. It took him several more years before he was able to break through to the USA senior team.

Standford's explosive six-hitting has made him an impact player fetching numerous Man-of-the-Match awards, including a pair against ODI nations Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea at the 2015 World T20 Qualifier in Ireland. Despite his pedigree, he was not picked for USA's 50-over squad until October 2016, due in part to his work commitments. His day job is as a bus driver for the New York City Metro Transit Authority, steering a route daily through his home borough of Brooklyn.
