127.2 to JE Root, Root tries to advance and feels for a ball a foot and a half wide of off stump and nicks it behind! So the one-over spell tactic works! Root trying to force the pace ends up feathering a catch behind to a ball that just left him slightly and bounced a little too. Root seemed to struggle for his touch, as 3 runs in 25 balls suggests. 378/4
135.5 to MM Ali, Ali cannot get the short-ball bogey off his back! He has seen Bhuvi dig this in early, so early that he's into a pull instinctively and realises the ball is just now reaching him. Shaves the bottom edge and lobs to the cordon where Rahane dives across from second slip in front of Dhawan at first to snap a lovely catch. 420/5
158.3 to IR Bell, down the wicket comes Bell, looks to swing through the line but misjudges it and it's taken from mid-off. Completely mistimed from Bell and a simple catch taken by Pankaj. Bell walks off to a tremendous ovation, it's been a pleasure to watch and he's kicked England on very nicely. 526/6
33412313.7214013000
20.5 to SD Robson, Jaddu takes it now at third slip! It was back of a length and had Robson caught in the crease. He had to play and just that inch of away movement is enough for the outside edge. Comfortable grab to the fielder's right. 55/1

116.5 to GS Ballance, turn, bounce, outside edge, is it? Yes says the umpire and the part-timer has produced a dream of a ball! This was drifting in on middle and Ballance was deep in his crease to try and nudge it into the leg side again, but the ball gripped the deck and misbehaves. Ballance is squared up and pokes, Dhoni grabs a good take. Oopsy, there wasn't an edge there. The deflection was off the trousers!. 355/3
45.41015323.3520217400
75.6 to AN Cook, slides down the leg side, Cook tries to whip it away and there's a huge cry for caught behind and it's given out! Cook falls five short of a century, a great shame for him but he'll surely take the 95 after his desperate run recently. Simply complete misfortunate there for Cook, it just skidded on and he was perhaps trying to play with too square a bat, it was a faint tickle and a smart catch from Dhoni. There's a little spike on Real Time Snicko. 213/2
163.4 to JC Buttler, flat delivery just outside off, Buttler stepped back to try and pull but he gets an inside edge onto the off stump so the fun comes to an end. A superb innings from Buttler, such clean striking but that was too full to pull and Buttler dragged it into his own timbers. 569/7

6.3 to S Dhawan, squares him up, takes the outside edge and Dhawan has to walk back! This new angle makes his away swinger all the more deadly, he had to play at it and his technique means he doesn't get across to cover the line. Outside edge sails to Cook at slip, who can't have a bigger smile than he did. 17/1
47.6 to V Kohli, in the channel, draws the stroke and Kohli falls again, nicked to first slip! He had looked serene until that flash at Jordan and now he's been wobbled off his perch by Anderson. The ball pitched on a length and hit the seam, taking it away just enough and Cook safely pouched it. 136/4
88.1 to RA Jadeja, poof! The inswinger does the job! This was full and quick, Jadeja planted his front leg and had to bring his bat around it to make contact because of the seam in at him. Rapped on the pads rather low. Simple call for the umpire. 275/7
104.2 to MS Dhoni, that's that! Jimmy flashes that smile again after bouncing Dhoni out. Quick and short, Dhoni is caught in the crease and goes for a full but he is a touch slow on the shot. Not a usual occurrence for the India captain as the top-edge sails to Buttler. 329/9
106.1 to Mohammed Shami, five-for Anderson! He'll wish everyday was his birthday! Banged in short and it follows the batsman who was trying to sway away. But like Pujara previously, he doesn't drop his wrists. Clear glove, Buttler won't drop that. Innings done and Anderson raises his cap to the crowd as he leads the team away coolly with the match ball. 330/10

23.2 to CA Pujara, dug in, Pujara tries to sway back... but can't get his hands out of the way! He's tickled it through to Buttler! Another neither-nor score for Che Pujara, the revolution will not happen today... The ball came back at him off the pitch as he took evasive action, brushed the gloves and straight into Buttler's for the first time in Test cricket. 56/2
29.5 to M Vijay, chopped on! Vijay has been indecisive in the recent few minutes. This was on a good length and followed the angle in at him. He was gingerly setting up to play and the ball held its line just a touch, which persuaded him to try and leave. But he doesn't commit well enough and the inside edge knocks onto the stumps. 88/3
98.4 to B Kumar, there's an inside edge, it's lobbed towards the cordon and third slip dives forward and takes it! this was pitched up and Bhuvi was pushing forward, a little nip in ensures the middle is missed. Ballance watches the ball, runs forward and dives to pluck a low grab. 313/8

66.2 to RG Sharma, how abominably awful! He is bent over his bat at the crease, depicting poignant disappointment but this was a seriously poor shot. Came down and lifted a tame delivery right down mid-off's throat when England were trying to give their main bowlers a breather. And tea was barely five minutes away. 210/5
70.1 to AM Rahane, what is going on here?! I mean, WHAT WAS THAT?!! Rahane has just skelped a long-hop straight up in the air to be caught at mid-on! Totally inexplicable, a well-set batsman whose eyes lit up when he saw the ball pitch short, could have deposited it wherever he liked but only managed to toe-end it into the hazy blue afternoon sky, the substitute fielder, only just on, taking a simple catch. 217/6

6.4 to SD Robson, slip catch taken! India, you beauty! Gets the pitch to work in his favour as he bends his back and pulls out a back of a length delivery that hits the deck and seams away. Robson pokes, as he has to, and nicks off. 22/1

20.5 to GS Ballance, pressed forward and the ball balloons off the front pad to short leg... Given by Erasmus, after a few moments' thought! Did it come off the glove? Jadeja certainly thought so, the close catchers all went up in celebration. There were two sounds but replays suggest Ballance is unlucky again, the ball flicking the pad and then hitting his thigh. Either way, his sprightly knock is ended and the players go off for lunch. 80/2
26.2 to IR Bell, bowled around his legs! Bell's breezy knock ends rather tamley. It was a touch too full for the shot, turns and scuttles on to kiss the pad and knock on the stumps. 106/3
40.4 to JE Root, gone, bowled him trying to sweep! Jadeja fired it in from over the wicket, Root swiped and missed, the woodwork is rattled... and that brings the England declaration, with an early tea being taken. 205/4

43.3 to RG Sharma, fuller length, felt for, and a little edge behind! The batsman stands his ground but everyone else was convinced and Anderson strikes immediately. Poor stroke really, feeling a long way outside off with just a defensive stroke, that could so easily have been left. There was a hint of shape away from the bat and it was a very faint edge, as confirmed by Real Time Snicko. 112/5
47.2 to MS Dhoni, and low and behold Anderson nicks him off next ball! Almost the same delivery, Dhoni nudging awkwardly at it and getting a thick edge to Buttler's right that he takes comfortably. Another man drawn into playing where better judgement would say let that go, a little away movement proves fatal. 120/6

12.2 to CA Pujara, Mooeeeeeen! he is all over India in this Test. Terrific catch at first slip by Jordan, that came at him quite quickly and he had to snap a low catch to his right. Drew Pujara forward but there wasn't as much turn as he expected. Genuine outside edge and England offer a tutorial for India's slip fielders. Stay low, stay mobile and pull off blinders. 29/2
32.2 to V Kohli, slides on again, big appeal, Erasmus gives the finger - Kohli has feathered one behind! India are four down, their gun batsman has failed to fire again... He threw it up, Kohli went at it harder than you would expect a batsman of his class to, smart catch from Buttler, just about clung on. 89/4
60.1 to RA Jadeja, maybe I should be punished! Jadeja has played on! Nicely tossed up and angled in on off stump, the batsman came forward, perhaps a little too much and yorked himself. In his hurry to get the bat down he gets an inside edge and deflects onto his sticks. Hitting against the turn sends him packing. 152/7
60.5 to B Kumar, two in the over! Gets a bit of turn, a bit more bounce, certainly more than Bhuvi expected as he lunged forward to defend. Inside edge balloons off the pad and goes to Anderson at gully who dives forward and pouches it safely. How long since #OhMo starts trending?. 152/8
62.6 to Mohammed Shami, five-for! And a what a beaut to get it! This is pitched on a good length and didn't turn too much, just enough, at Shami, who was backing away trying to defend. The momentum takes him too far away from the ball and it has a clear path to the stumps. 154/9
66.4 to Pankaj Singh, six-for! England are in a huddle, they have ended a drought of ten Tests without a win! Again another Indian batsman plays inside the line of a Moeen offspinner, ball crashes into off stump and that's all she wrote. The five-match series is back on even ground. 178/10
502204.40214000
20512.5080000
28.6 to S Dhawan, gives this some air, grips, takes the edge - gottim! Root has produced a little beaut, perfect offspinner to the left-hander who pushes at it, takes a big, crowd-pleasing chunk of bat and loops to slip. Actually spun a good way, that delivery, Root charges off like a footballer in celebration... Just as he did at Lord's last year, he's chipped out a big fourth-innings wicket. 80/3
