6.2 to SR Watson, Malinga you beauty! Lovely slower ball. He has been troubling them with pace and bounce, and this is the first slower ball he has bowled. This pitches on a length, around leg stump, and Watson is way too early into the shot. The ball holds its line, and takes the leading edge that settles with midwicket. Sri Lankans are thrilled. 30/1
1006016.00266000
45.2 to MG Johnson, bowled'im! Low full toss, nearly a yorker, Johnson plays across it, gets an inside edge onto the middle stump. 204/7
804655.75214010
16.5 to MJ Clarke, top catch! Nice delivery too, moving away from back of a length, Clarke goes for an ill-advised cut, and gets a thick edge that is dying on Sangakkara, who dives in front and to his right, holds it one-handed, then gets the left hand over to control the ball even as he is tumbling over. 85/2
18.5 to BJ Haddin, The pressure works! Murali's introduction has tied Australia down, and Perera has produced wicket-taking deliveries in back-to-back overs. This was short and wide all right, but got a bit big on Haddin, who had committed to the cut shot, and he failed to keep it down. Dilshan dives to his left at backward point to complete a regulation catch by his standards. 88/3
18.6 to CL White, what a beaut! Ripper. Perera and Sri Lanka are on fire at the MCG. Another legcutter. He is on a hat-trick! Perfect delivery first up. Back of a length, pitching middle and off, cutting away, beating the poke, hitting the top of off. 88/4
40.2 to SPD Smith, and Perera strikes almost immediately! He gas this knack of cutting the ball just enough. Lovely legcutter again. Short of a length, around off, making him play, then moving away enough to take the edge. 178/6
49.3 to JW Hastings, Michelle for Thisara! Hastings looks for the ramp shot, clearly not suited for that shot, doesn't get low, and Perera is full and straight and takes the prone middle stump. He is thrilled, raises his arms. 235/8

35.2 to SE Marsh, again Sri Lanka break through just when Australia look to get on to a threatening partnership. Extra bounce for Randiv there. The ball is there to be cut, at least it seems so until it kicks and bounces, and takes a thick edge that Sanga hangs on to really well. 155/5

18.3 to NLTC Perera, slight swing for Johnson. Bowled'im. More so pace than swing. Perera is backing away. Not wanting to get too close to its line. Misses the full and straight delivery, which holds its line a touch, and takes the off stump. 86/6
805116.372810010
3.3 to TM Dilshan, Siddle comes back fast! Cramps him up on the short ball. Dilshan looks to pull it, but replays will tell him it is too full for the pull - pitched short of a length - and the tight line sort of cuffs him up. All he gets is a tame top edge that settles with Hussey, next to the square-leg umpire. 10/1

602704.50231130

15.2 to DPMD Jayawardene, Doherty strikes again after that crazy run-out! Mahela plays for the spin. This one doesn't. Caught dead in front. He is not pleased, he shouldn't be. The first ball hadn't turned either. He plays a forward defensive to this full delivery, and the ball goes with the arm, hitting him in front of middle. 73/3
17.2 to LPC Silva, Doherty is on fire here. Run-out, and then two wickets in two overs. And what a poor shot from Silva! Zero brains! Just dances down aimlessly and swings at a ball that is nowhere close to him. Watson back-pedals from mid-on and takes a safe catch. Will Sanga we left standing alone?. 84/4
17.3 to KC Sangakkara, where were you hiding Xaveir Doherty? On a hat-trick in his second over. And this wicket could be the game. Sanga, who was batting so beautifully, looks for the paddle sweep, but this turns sharply from outside off, and kisses the leg stump. Done in by the break. Doherty is ecstatic, Sanga distraght. 84/5
25.2 to KMDN Kulasekara, X-man has four! To go with that special run-out. Replay of Mahela dismissal. Stretching forward, defending for the turn, the ball goes straight on, would have missed both off and leg. 107/8
