12.6 to Younis Khan, a duck farm here. Second duck for Pakistan. Lovely follow-up delivery from Kula after that big inducker. This one holds its line, and Younis pushes at it away from his body. The edge is soft, and PJ is alert to it, moving forward and fast to pluck this one. 50/3
67.5 to Umar Gul, he is admonishing himself right away. He has had a brain implosion. He was looking so good and solid until he slogged across the line of a straight delivery, and lost his stumps. He annoys he has done a bad bad thing. 217/8
1856343.508412000
7.4 to Mohammad Hafeez, Timber. Pererea breaks through the bat-pad gap. Two deliveries earlier this over had held their line. That perhaps is the reason why Hafeez pushed away from the body. The ball was short of a length, and seamed in this time. Beats the inside edge of the bat, and kisses the pad on the way to the top of off. 35/1
9.5 to Azhar Ali, an unsettled Azhar has fallen. After two deliveries that seamed either way, Perera floats one sucker delivery full and wide. Azhar goes after it, but his feet are stuck. Playing too far away for the body, he edges this at a comfortable height to gully. Perera vindicating the faith shown in him. 41/2
15.6 to Taufeeq Umar, Perera has struck in his eight over too. Close to the stumps, pitches just in front of leg, and there is no angle on it for it to miss the off stump. Taufeeq plays down the wrong line by at least 7-8 inches. Pretty poor shot. And he has a guilty look on his face as soon as the ball hits his pad in front of middle and leg. Simon Taufel judges it right, and raises the finger. 56/4
49.4 to Misbah-ul-Haq, Perera's golden touch continues. Just when Sri Lanka were looking subdued, Misbah has an uncharacteristic concentration break. Walks down the wicket, Perera bowls short of a length and outside off. He has been leaving these for a while now, but follows this one, and edges it as the ball leaves him. That was too wide for a player of Misbah's class and patience. 141/5
832012.50382000
57.4 to Mohammad Sami, accurate short ball, 134ks, towards his throat, Sami doesn't like it and tries to swat it away. All he manages is a lob to midwicket. Smart delivery for a tailender. Key was, it was slow enough to make him think he could pull it. 175/6
18.564032.12926000
52.5 to Adnan Akmal, Oh Adnan, what have you done? He'd looked good so far, a seemingly harmless delivery from Herath, flighted on middle and Adnan made it a wicket-taking one, sweeping a touch too early and missed it altogether, it beat the swing of the bat to crash into the stumps, Pakistan are sliding again. 162/5
62.3 to Adnan Akmal, Oh Adnan, what have you done? He'd looked good so far, a seemingly harmless delivery from Herath, flighted on middle and Adnan made it a wicket-taking one, sweeping a touch too early and missed it altogether, it beat the swing of the bat to crash into the stumps, Pakistan are sliding again. 198/7
68.4 to Asad Shafiq, Herath strikes. This one has turned and bounced out of nowhere. On a length, in front of off, then kicking away. Beats the bat by a long way but seems to have gloved it. The top glove. But was it off the handle? I am yet to be convinced he gloved it. No bat for sure. Shafiq didn't walk. Steve Davis, though, didn't hesitate either. Watching replays it seems he did glove it. 217/9
72.5 to Saeed Ajmal, this is the real deal, though. Big sweep, misses by a long way, and is caught dead plumb. Wicket No. 150 for Herath. 226/10

80.1 to HAPW Jayawardene, he's struck first ball! Gul pitched just outside off stump and slanted it into the right-hander, Jayawardene moved slightly forward and across and played down the wrong line. The ball hit him on the pad in line with off and middle stump. Plumb. 236/7
28.237052.471285000
7.3 to LD Chandimal, he gets his man. Smart bowling. He shows he has not just the skill but the brain too. After getting balls to leave Chandimal from round the stumps, he gets one to go with the angle. Chandimal nowhere close it. Hit on the roll, on the crease, in front of middle and leg. Steve Davis takes his time before raising his finger. Clipping leg, I would say. 14/1
7.6 to KC Sangakkara, never mind the lbw, this one has damaged the wood work. Sanga registers his first duck against Pakistan. This is a superb spell from Junaid. Similar delivery, but this time Sanga is stretching away from the body, and the ball squeezes in through the gap after pitching on a length, just outside off. 14/2
66.2 to AD Mathews, caught at gully! The delivery was short of a length and wide outside off, not one of Junaid's best, Mathews went after it, trying to cut. The ball flew quickly off the edge and Asad Shafiq held a sharp catch. Junaid's bowled so many awesome deliveries today but it's one of the more ordinary ones that gets a wicket.. 200/5
98.1 to KMDN Kulasekara, he's struck first ball! And Taufeeq has held a catch, after the slip fielders have dropped plenty. Kulasekara drove loosely at one that pitched on a good length around off stump and shaped away, getting a thick edge to the make-shift keeper. 320/8
100.2 to NLTC Perera, he has his fifth! And he's bowled Perera with a fabulous delivery. He pitched it on a good length outside off and nipped it back into the left-hander from over the wicket. Perera moved forward to defend but left a gap between bat and pad. Junaid found it.. 337/10
1716914.05626010
14.4 to DPMD Jayawardene, Mohammad Sami, we have been expecting you. Whatmore smiling inside the players' gallery. Not for the first time he slips in the yorker from out of nowhere. MJ didn't want to play this over, and now he will have to wait for a full innings to play another. Yorker on middle and leg, past the inside edge, onto the toe. Mahela immediately turns his back towards the umpire, as if to suggest he is not bothered about the appeal. Nice try, says Simon Taufel before raising his finger. 44/3
2556632.641125200
61.4 to TT Samaraweera, lbw! Ajmal pitches in line with off stump from round the wicket and spins the offbreak slightly into the right-hander, Samaraweera pushes forward to defend but plays down the wrong line. He is struck plumb in front. 187/4
69.2 to NT Paranavitana, bowled him! Played on! Ajmal pitches the offbreak just outside off and spins it away, Paranavitana tries to cut off the back foot but chops the ball into the ground and on to the stumps. 204/6
99.6 to HMRKB Herath, that looks plumb lbw and the umpire thinks so too. Herath plonked his foot forward and was hit flush on the pad by one that went straight on from round the wicket . It would have hit middle stump. 337/9

2.2 to Taufeeq Umar, he's been given lbw! Did that pitch in line with the stumps? It did not. Taufeeq is desperately unlucky to be given, and you have to feel for someone who's had to stand-in as wicketkeeper for 100 overs and then open the innings. The ball pitched outside leg stump on a good length and struck the pad as Taufeeq moved forward to play across the line. He missed and was hit flush on the pad. Simon Taufel was the umpire.. 16/1
2528803.5210210010

52.3 to Younis Khan, appeal for a catch at silly point, and given, Younis stepping out to defend, wasn't close to the pitch in the end as he stopped, the ball angled in, did not straighten, he was playing for it, seemed to be a thin inside edge onto left pad before it popped up, it was dying on Para who reacted superbly to lunge forward with his right hand and pluck it low, umpire Taufel checks with the square leg umpire whether it carried or not, and they are satisfied it did. 158/3
56.1 to Misbah-ul-Haq, Misbah's positivity gets him, he was looking for runs right since he came in, Herath tosses it in full from wide of the crease, Misbah makes some room and leans out to push it down the ground from middle, but manages an edge that flies to slip, Herath is pumped, he's turned this game around with two huge wickets. 176/4
94.6 to Umar Gul, that looked gone, and umpire Taufel gives it, Sri Lanka wrapping it up quickly now, angled in from wide of the crease, Gul pressed the front pad forward and across for the defensive push, playing for the straightening, it never happened, the ball carried in with the angle, and struck him in front of middle and off, no doubt about this one. 281/7
100.3 to Saeed Ajmal, Herath needs one ball to strike, and Ajmal has been given by umpire Taufel, tossed up, Ajmal on the forward push, pushing way outside the line in the end, hoping for a lot of turn, the ball had just started to straighten a bit after being angled in, he is struck near the knee roll, in front of middle, not much doubt. 299/8
2317433.21948010
35.3 to Mohammad Hafeez, and it is Dilhara who has broken through just before lunch, a wide and full delivery, angled away, there have been far better ones that have been played far better this morning, this time Hafeez throws his bat at it for a big drive, and a thick edge flies chest-high to the lone slip. 110/2
91.3 to Azhar Ali, it is Dilhara who broke through in the morning, it is Dilhara who breaks through again, Azhar playing a slightly tired stroke, the lack of bounce doing him in as well, widish ball outside off, he goes for a cut, and edges it through low to the keeper, end of an outstanding innings, he came in at 16 for 1 last evening, Dilhara on 99 Test wickets. 276/5
93.3 to Mohammad Sami, that is 100 Test wickets for Dilhara, he went for it, he went for the full delivery on the stumps after those short balls, Sami caught on the crease, misses the work on the leg side, hit in front of leg stump, and the angle looked to be taking the ball past it, umpire Davis did not think so though, oh yes, on replays, it appears to be going clearly down leg. 280/6

10.2 to NT Paranavitana, so what does Para do? He gives Pakistan a second chance, a tougher one, and Younis Khan shows how it's done at second slip, not a drive from Para, he came forward and looked to defend one straightening outside off stump, the ball flew low to YK's right, he reacted sharply and swallowed it with both hands. 44/1
912202.44422000

37.2 to LD Chandimal, Chandimal gives it away just before tea, he had hit a similar delivery for four over extra cover the previous over, he charges out again, but can only get it as far as mid off, who tumbles forward to take a sharp low catch. 132/2
47.4 to DPMD Jayawardene, Mahela is walking, after making 11 off 43, he tries a scoop from leg stump to a flat offspinner, but ends up hitting it tamely in the air for short fine to come around to his right and settle under it. 150/3
55.1 to TT Samaraweera, deceived by the doosra, he's had a problem with this delivery throughout the series, lands full on middle and off and Samaraweere plays for the turn into him, it goes the other way and crashes into the stumps, this spices things up. 178/4
