6.45pm Latham: Yeah obviously, slightly disappointing with the start. We knew it was going to be tough but we kept losing wickets at crucial times. For us, it's about finding a way in these conditions and try to assess what a good score is. With runs on the board, it isn't easy. As I said, it's about working [out] what a good score is and try and work our way around it. Proud of the effort the guys put in with the ball.

Shakib is the Player of the Match: Very good feeling to win the first match of the series, given the fact we've never won against New Zealand. This win will boost our confidence. We've been bowling really well through the Australia series and against New Zealand. Our batting is not up to the mark yet, but, having said that, the conditions are not easy for batting.

Mahmudullah: It's a good feeling, having lost a few matches against them [New Zealand]. We need to come back again and do it again. The main key was bowlers were hungry and disciplined with their skills; they were not trying too much and that was important. I'd have batted first but it's always a tricky wicket.

Davis: "The pitches in UAE and Oman are generally slow and tend to assist spin. With the IPL happening prior to the WC, its defintely going to get a lot slower. I dont think its a bad ploy from Bangladesh :P"

6.31pm There it is: Bangladesh's first T20I victory over New Zealand. It was never in doubt after their spinners and Mustafizur combined to rout the visitors for 60 - their joint-lowest total in T20I cricket - on another Dhaka turner. Muhammad Hyder : "Very short sighted approach by BCB, these pitches are not what you will get in the WC so instead of preparing for the WC they targeted short term benefit of winning against NZ, not the greatest way of preparing for the WC "
