Victor Trumper junior was only one when his father died in 1915, but his brief cricket career was inevitably shadowed by comparisons which no mortal could have lived up to. It was perhaps for the best that he played not as a batsman but as a fast bowler, and a useful one, who got bounce from a high action and was able to move the ball both ways.
His career was brief, ended by the cessation of cricket because of World War Two. He played six times for New South Wales and once for a Don Bradman XI in 1940-41. His debut, against Queensland at Brisbane, was memorable in that he took two wickets in his first over, including Bill Brown.
